Featured Model - 10/18/20, Caramel Macchiato

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured Model, the weekly blog event where I pick a model I don't own but would like to, give some stats on it and provide commentary about it. This week's model is...Caramel Macchiato!

This amazing test model was a giveaway via Breyer's website back in 2012. Isn't she gorgeous? They picked the perfect name for her, too. She's a beautiful roan blanket Appaloosa on the Make a Wish mold sculpted by Kathleen Moody. At the time, the flip-tail verson of the mold had been used only twice (three times, if you count one other auction model from 2009), and it didn't end up seeing the light of day again until this year's Raia release from a few weeks ago. The only other thing I remember about this model is that she "popped up" again a few years after the giveaway when some scammer tried to say they had her for sale (or maybe trade, I don't remember), but the real owner still had her, and the receipts (literally!).

Have I gushed enough about how pretty this model is? She'd make a worthy addition to anyone's collection. Make a Wish has been used in the Breyerfest auction or as a prize model a number of times, but I feel she's been rather lightly used beyond that. Maybe she'll get another release now that they put the mold back into production as Raia? I hope so - perhaps as a web special next year. Personally, I'd like to see her with Josiah's paint job. Maybe it would be ugly...but who knows - it could be great!
