Featured JAH - 10/7/2023, Jan/Feb 1995

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! This week's issue is Jan/Feb 1995, so let's get into it!

On the nicely-executed front cover, a customized Morganglanz and rider make their way through a forest scene. This scene continues on the back, along with the reveal of Buster and Brandi, the JAH 20th Anniversary special run.

In the Editor's Desk, Stephanie introduces the new bimonthly publication schedule - woohoo! No more Summer I and Summer II weirdness! On page 3 we have the Breyer Tour schedule for 1995 (the Tour stops now have more-or-less been replaced by Breyer Fun Days), as well as a Signing Party schedule where fans could meet Peter Stone, Breyer Man and have him sign their models.

On page 4-5 we have the 20 Years of JAH article. Sheesh, JAH is now the better part of 50 years old. Think we'll get any acknowledgement of that in 2025? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The rest of the JAH article appears on page 6-7, along with some quotes from various prominent hobbyists of yesteryear.

Page 12-13 contain a helpful, if super-long, article about all the different Breyer mold marks! I hadn't realized there were quite so many - things are quite a bit more standardized now, as far as I know.

Page 17's Blast from the Past showcases all of the JAH special runs up to that point, including the elusive dapple gray CWP and the darkly handsome black Jumping Horse.

The rest of the article about mold marks continues on page 34, along with a Who Am I? that looks like some type of Legionario. On page 35 is the start of this magazine's Vintage Point, featuring the Semi-Rearing Mustang!

The Semi-Rearing Mustang had already had quite a few releases by 1995, huh? Well, he was pretty popular back in the day. His star has faded somewhat in the present day, but he's still popular among vintage collectors. I don't think I've ever owned a Semi-Rearing Mustang, though one of my friends had Baron and I wanted him, but never got one. Part of me still wants to acquire (or re-acquire) all those old carpet herd models we played with back in the day, but I just don't have the space.

That's it for this issue. Check back next week for Mar/Apr 1995!
