Featured JAH - 5/4/2024, Jan/Feb 2000

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're getting into the new millennium with this week's issue. We're taking a look at Jan/Feb 2000, so let's get going!

On the front cover is the winning entry in the JAH art contest. On the back cover, the second-place finisher in the art contest evokes thoughts of warmer days.

In the Editor's Desk, Stephanie announces the art contest winners and introduces the new Breyer website. On page 3, portrait model Poco Bueno makes its debut. I had Poco Bueno! Along with Doc Bar and Go Man Go.

On page 4-5, we have an article about Midnight Tango! His mold made its debut with this issue.

After skipping the New for 2000 list on page 6-7, on page 8-9 we have some nice color photos of some new for 2000 releases, including Carpe Diem with his new tail, Midnight Tango, the Zebra and more.

After skipping a list of Tour events, on page 12 we have an article about Breyer portrait horse Biko, and on page 13 is an article about eventing (and a photo of the Biko model - I had one!).

After skipping an article about model horse collecting on the Internet and a judge's clinic (the last of it on page 18), on page 19 we have a farewell article for Big Ben, who died at the end of 1999.

On page 20-21 are the art contest winners and runners-up, including some cringey names added by...uh, the previous owner of this particular issue. Yeah, that's it.

On page 22-23 is a Brushstrokes article about the new companion animals.

On page 24-25 is an article about the 2000 Breyerfest Celebration Horse, Leahs Fancy Chick! And also some roping terms, for people less familiar with the lingo.

After skipping an article about photo showing and Horse Trader, on page 36 we have a well-used crossword puzzle and a Who Am I? featuring...some kind of Friesian, I think? On page 37 we have more new companion animals, with more cringe names. Uh, and that border collie and Dalmatian are still in this issue's previous owner's collection! Don't ask me how I know.

On page 38 is Blast From the Past featuring Corky the Circus Boy and his elephant Bimbo, and Just About...Breyer Animals! featuring the Bear Family set. On page 39 is the first page of this issue's Vintage Point article, this time featuring Brighty!

On page 40 is the rest of the Vintage Point article, and that brings us to the end of this week's issue! Check back next week for Mar/Apr 2000!
