My last CCA order is here!

Good news, everyone! My last Collector Club Appreciation box came today, in a huge box! About 10 minutes after I checked the tracking this morning, I glanced out the window and saw the UPS guy coming with a huge box on his shoulder. Ooh!

I didn't get photos of the rest of the order (Get Rowdy, Carltonlima Emma reissue, Palomino Classic Mason x2, Poetry in Motion Stablemate set, Horse Foal Surprise set), but here's my third and final glossy model:

That's right - glossy Peptoboonsmal! Huzzah! I went ahead and unboxed him along with everything else since I didn't end up getting any duplicates. I was hoping really, really hard that I wouldn't get a second Sjoerd. Based on the reaction I've been seeing online, it might have been hard to trade another one for something else! But all's well that ends well. Now I'll just have to see if I can find a glossy Adiah to buy or trade for at Breyerfest!

Speaking of Breyerfest...where the heck are the auction models?! I want more, more, MORE! We leave in 26 days, for Pete's sake! It'd be nice to see the program too, honestly. I just want more! Maybe tomorrow they'll give us something...

Collector Appreciation orders are here!

Greetings, readers! Good new - two of my Collector Club Appreciation orders are here! One of them was an order of just the glossy CCA model (just buying it outright) which I was glad to see was successful. So...here are the two glossy CCA models I received!

That's right - Sjoerd and Morganquest Native Sun! Woohoo, I didn't get doubles! Yet, anyway. I'm still waiting on a third order that's pretty much MIA right now - it's been shipped, but hasn't been updated since the "On the Way" scan from yesterday. That's the only one that had other models I actually wanted - the order I got today was a couple of Trads for resale, two pony pouches and a T-shirt I haven't tried on yet. So let's hope my third order gets here fast!

It begins...

Well, I tried to resist...but the siren call of the pins overtook me, and...

Like a moth to the flame...sigh. It's been dang near a month since I ordered these, so I'm glad they're finally here.

Ironically (or not), it was the pin board that got me to order these, so of course mine is backordered and won't be back in stock until March. That's okay - maybe I'll get that at the same time as my Equidae, since our "local" (4 hours away) dealer apprently isn't getting their order until March either. But at least I have the Equidae pin to tide me over? Bleh.

I think the Josiah is my favorite of these pins, though - it's hard to say no to that shade of blue. And since I don't have the interest or the shelf space for any bubble-butt Belgians on my shelves, a pin makes a nice substitute.

Ugh, I was so looking forward to putting all these pins on my pin board with my Breyerfest VIP pins! Well, I'll really be looking forward to next March now, I guess. Or probably April, with the way things are going. Hey, maybe I'll get it on my birthday...along with the additional pins I may or may not have ordered today...

Featured Model - 4/8/2017, Horse Crazy Peruvian Paso

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured Model, the weekly blog event where I pick a model from my collection, provide commentary about it and give some stats on it. This week's victim: the Peruvian Paso from the Horse Crazy Gift Set!

This guy was issued from 2014-2015 as part of the four-piece Horse Crazy Gift Set, with three other crazily-colored models. He's on the G3 Peruvian Paso mold sculpted by Jane Lunger and was item #5372.

Going by the packaging (lots of purple and pink), these Horse Crazy sets are aimed at girls. All the same, I like that at least not all of the horses themselves are pink or purple - they've done green, yellow and blue as well. And this guy is blue - my favorite color! He looks like a piece of delicious blue raspberry candy. Yum! And his glittery mane and tail don't hurt, either. It's always interesting to see the clear models, because it gives you a glimpse of the "inner workings" of the model, as it were. For instance, I would have thought Stablemates were solid-cast before seeing these types of models, but clearly that isn't the case.

I don't have as many of the Peruvian Paso in my collection, for some reason - it doesn't seem like he gets used as often, probably because his pose keeps him from being used as anything other than a Paso. I like him, though - he doesn't have crazy amounts of hair, but he still appeals to me. He's one of those solid, steady molds on the fringe that don't immediately jump out at you, but still manage to stay on the shelves through numerous collection purges (not that I've done much Stablemate purging, but still). Let's hope the Paso gets used again soon. Ooh, he's another one I'd like to see in the Stablemate Club! Make it happen, Breyer!
