November Collector Club newsletter!

As usual, this month's Collector Club newsletter is out! Down to the wire as usual, I see. According to the newsletter itself, this is the one-year anniversary of the newsletter. Let's hope it keeps going for years to come, eh? Lots of fun stuff again as usual, and they're doing a giveaway of Tamu and Chai!

I hope they keep these cool giveaways going, too. Good luck to everyone who enters!

Also, there's an interesting sneak peek, as usual:

The thought on the Interwebs is that it's this year's animal special run - perhaps the bear and cub - which would be fine by me since I don't collect the animals. It kind of looks like Emma to me, though? Hopefully it's not her. My wallet needs a break!

October Collector Club newsletter and Christoff!

Right down to the wire again, eh Breyer? Well, if you're a Collector Club member, check your email - this month's Collector Club newsletter is out again! There's a fun article about Halloween-themed models, a giveaway of Ratsputin and Salem, and another sneak peek!

Ooh, it looks like they're reusing Benasque's color scheme for something! Let's hope I can get drawn for it this time, yes? Can't wait to see what it is!

In other news, my Christoff came today - behold!

He matches with St. Moritz pretty well, I must say - though this guy has blue on the bottom of his hooves, while St. Moritz doesn't, which is a little jarring.

I'm definitely super-glad they reused St. Moritz's color, too! Hopefully this isn't the last time we see it. Dare I hope this means we'll get a new regular run release on this mold? It's a little weird that of six total releases, four have been decorators. He needs some more realistic colors to even the score!

Quality-wise, he's not too bad - he has some plastic goobers under his paint that weren't cleaned up very well, and his eyes are painted strangely - the black doesn't cover his whole eyeball. But other than that, he's nice! Let's hope I can cram him onto the shelves with his brethren!

The September Collector Club newsletter is out!

Just in time for October to begin, the September Collector Club newsletter has been released! If you're a  Collector Club member, check your email (possibly your spam folder) to read it! Lots of exciting stuff in here - there's an article about the In-Between Mare! Check out these amazing tests for Zahra:

Sheesh. I would bet money that one of those shows up in the Breyerfest live auction next year, or possibly the silent auction. That silver bay is incredible! Any guesses as to what she'd sell for? Holy moly.

Also, Breyer is doing a giveaway of one random Zahra to a lucky winner! Click here to enter. Most excitingly, we have a new sneak peek!

It's a release for October, and my first thought was the final Premier Club model of the year...but those usually come out in November, so I'm not really sure about that. Wait a minute - the last Premier Club release is a splash pinto, so scratch that. Maybe it's the second Collector Club special run of the year? We haven't seen anything about that yet. They've been doing two special runs per year for so long, I can't imagine they'd stop now. But is that level of detail something they'd put on a CC SR? Who knows. Hopefully we don't have to wait forever to find out!

August Collector Club newsletter!

Hey, we got the August Collector Club newsletter, and it's not the last day of the month! How refreshing. Well, first things first - there's a fun article about the origins of clearware, featuring this droolworthy photo:

Breyer's photography usually leaves a lot to be desired, but don't those four models all look spectacular together? But wow, look at this buffalo test model!

Looks like Breyer's interpretation of the Red Bull. Super cool!

There's also a new giveaway in the newsletter - a glossy decorator Dark Horse Surprise model from Breyerfest 2018!

Collectors can enter for him once per account. The deadline is 9/13/20 at midnight!

Lastly, here's a new sneak peek!

According to the Internets, this is the Corazon/Andalusian Foal mold. Interesting...I wonder what the white stripe on the front is supposed to be? Looks a bit like a bongo. I can't see them issuing a foal by itself for a web special, so maybe it's a matching mom-and-baby bongo set with Hermosa? She was just used at Breyerfest, though. I suppose they could match the foal with a different mare, it would just be weird. Well, I guess we'll find out soon!

Slainte Surprise Numbers and July Collector Club newsletter!

Exciting news today - we got the reveal of the Slainte Surprise numbers! They are as follows:

Golden palomino - 800 Matte, 325 Glossy
Bay leopard appaloosa - 800 Matte, 325 Glossy
Silver dapple black - 800 Matte, 325 Glossy
Red roan pinto - 800 Matte, 325 Glossy

Interesting that all the numbers are even this year, and the glossy numbers were upped substantially from last year (200). This should at least even the playing field for finding them on the secondary market later, although I imagine some colors may still be more desirable than others. Well, maybe I won't have to spend an arm and a leg to get that glossy appy after all! Speaking of the appy, it looks like she was intended to be a bay after all, rather than black. And the palomino is not just palomino, but GOLDEN palomino! That ought to make her more desirable, right?

In other news, the July collector club newsletter is out (waiting until the last minute again, I see). Check your email to read it (if you're a CC member!). Exciting stuff! There aren't any sneak peeks this time, but Breyer is giving away 5 celebration models from this past Breyerfest, rather than the usual one giveaway.

Also, look at this cool test Stablemate!

It's an alternate colorway of Tiki, the event Stablemate from the 2011 Sunshine Celebration collector event. Also known as the event I'll forever kick myself for not attending (I was drawn from the waitlist for tickets, but didn't have anyone to go with, or money to go, and didn't want to go alone...sigh.) Oh well - there'll be more collector events, I'm sure.

Well, it's almost August - hopefully we get to see this year's Tractor Supply models soon!

June Collector Club newsletter!

Attention, Collector Club members! The June Collector Club newsletter is finally out, so check your email! Sheesh, talk about skin of your teeth...

Anyway, there's a fun article about the creation of Kathleen Moody's Big Ben and Gem Twist sculpts, among other things, but I'm more interested in this sneak peek:

To be revealed after Breyerfest, apparently. What could it be? The newsletter describes it as "something sweet." The second collector club special run of the year is usually a realistic color, so it's probably not that. We're still due another Berries Pony, which would fit the sweet treat clue, but those have all been realistic colors as well, so...I'm not sure? I guess it could be whatever the upcoming Wild Animal web special is, but those are decorators based on actual animals, not leaf-and-flower designs, so...I'm stumped. I guess I'm going with the Berries Pony guess for now?

The May Collector Club newsletter!

Well, leave it to Breyer to wait until the very end of the month (again) to release this month's Collector Club newsletter! If you're a CC member, check your email to read it. There's a fun story about Altynai's creation, another new My Collector Story, an Altynai giveaway, and another (groan) sneak peek! Suffice it to say I'm tired of sneak peeks...but I'll leave it at that. Here it is!

This is one of the upcoming Mid-Year releases that'll be revealed in June. What could it be? Looks like a shoulder/neck to me. This is probably a good place to talk about the supposedly-reliable rumor that the Saddlebred stallion Marc of Charm would be a Breyerfest store special on Hamilton. Obviously that store special never materialized, but I'm wondering if the horse's owners got a little confused about how the model would be released? Maybe he'll be a mid-year release instead - those models are typically first available at Breyerfest, so it's possible Breyer told them "He'll be available at Breyerfest," and then they (or we) thought that meant he'd be a store special. I mean, he's probably not this sneak peek, because he's not a roan, but it's definitely a possibility. Yes, the palomino Hamilton is part of the 70th Anniversary Collection right now, but that will probably only run until the end of the year, so it wouldn't be a big deal if the two releases overlapped for six months. I certainly can't wait to see this year's mid-year releases!

February newsletter teaser and Premier Club welcome letter!

Exciting news today - the February newsletter has been released for Collector Club members! This month's exciting giveaway is...a glossy chestnut AQHA 75th Anniversary model! Not something I'm terribly interested in, really, but it's easy to enter if you want him!

More exciting is the sneak peek that was part of the newsletter - check it out!

It looks like a mouth of some sort - the consensus on the Internets is that it may be Misty? I'm wondering if it's the next Berries Ponies release, since Misty is a pony after all. Some type of Appaloosa? I've never been much of a Misty fan, but an Appaloosa pattern could be fun on her. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long to find out.

In other news, my 2020 Premier Club welcome letter arrived today! While they couldn't just tell us what the other two releases are for some reason, there are a couple of clues - the Fraley sculpt "has majestic presence and expression" and the Parks sculpt "will make performance showers happy." So I'm thinking a drafter for the Fraley? And the Parks will...not have much hair, or its mane is blowing in the wind or something? I'm thinking we need better clues than that, but whatever. And lastly, the Stablemate is "a frequently-requested breed" sculpted by Brigitte Eberl! Some kind of drafter, as a mini of the Fraley? Exciting! Hopefully we find out sooner rather than later...
