 Exciting news, readers! The September Collector Club newsletter is now available! If you’re a club member, check your email to read it. There’s a feature story about Breyer rider dolls, a doll giveaway and this sneak peek!

No idea what it is, though there’s speculation that it’s the holiday animal web special. Hope we find out soon!

It doesn’t look like they’re doing a mare and foal set this year, sadly. The one from last year (Freya and Annika) is still available, so they must not have sold very well. Maybe it’ll be revealed later? Who knows. 

August Collector Club Newsletter!

 Well, it's the end of the month and you know what that means...time for the Collector Club newsletter! If you're a club member, check your email for more. Prevailing opinion is that this is the upcoming Brighty web special, Dryandra, but I'm mildly confused why they'd bother to sneak peek something they've already revealed? Seems odd. Guess we'll find out soon! 

July Collector Club newsletter, Belize selections and more Christmas in July stuff!

 Well, it's that time again, readers...time for the latest Collector Club newsletter! If you're a CC member, check your email for more information. There's a cover story about how Vindur from Dalalif was selected as a portrait model, a giveaway of a Vindur from Dalalif and this sneak peek! 

It doesn't look like the gray sneak peek from June that was never revealed. Hope we get to see it soon! 

And lastly, more stuff was added to the Christmas in July sale! Some of it is gone already, but other things are still available (though I don't advise spending $185 on Zafirah, as she can be found online for much less than that). Peruse those offerings here. 

And lastly, the selections for Belize went out today, so check your email. I didn't enter, but congrats to all the winners! 

June Collector Club newsletter and auction models!

 Greetings, readers! Well, it's been kind of a slow week, but at least we got the Collector Club newsletter for June. If you're a collector club member, check your email for more. This month's feature story details the life and accomplishments of Chief of Fourmile, and the giveaway for this month is a Harley - a descendant of Chief of Fourmile! Cool stuff. There's also this sneak peek: 

Is it a web special? It's supposed to be released in July, but I don't know what it would be. Maybe the fall Classic unicorn? They're not usually released that early, though.

And in other news, we got the last batch of auction models today! Let's start with the Semi-Rearing Mustang:

That color is amazing! I bet he'll sell for a lot. And another glossy one! Our cup runneth over. 

More gloss! Hooray! Nothing I need, but she's definitely pretty.

Now this one is interesting - the mane from the Cleveland Bay, and a tail from Roxy that was apparently modified to look wrapped. Never would have expected to see Bandalero as a polo pony, but it fits him pretty well. Wonder if we'll see this combination again at some point? 

Ooh, this one is my favorite! I think we have our top seller. What a pretty color! I love him. 

And that's it for auction models we get to see in advance! The blog post notes that there are two hidden lots, and two lots that are only available to in-person bidders...so, four hidden lots. Fortunately, we'll find out what they are in less than two weeks! Huzzah! 

More Breyerfest split runs and the Collector Club newsletter!

 Greetings, readers! Well, they had me fooled - I didn’t think there would be any other Breyerfest variations. But it did seem odd that there wasn’t a color split. Well, turns out there is one, because Breyer revealed more variations today! Check out this sooty palomino version of Thingvellir!

That color is amazing! Too bad I don’t collect the mold. 

And lastly for the variation reveals (for real this time, or so they claim), 1/3 of the Hygge models will be a beautiful pink!

I’m not really that into pink…but I’ll make an exception for this guy! I love him. Since there are 3,000 total, that means 1,000 of these will be pink. Those odds aren’t too terrible. I hope I get one!

And in other news, the May collector club newsletter was released today! The feature story is a retrospective on 3 decades of Breyerfest (that ties in well with my recent Featured Breyerfest series), there’s an Athenian Lady giveaway, and this sneak peek! 

It’s textured, but I have no idea what it is. Some kind of bull? Seems like an odd time of year to be getting the bulls out for a special run. Maybe it’s a mid-year release? 

April Collector Club Newsletter!

 Wow, it's already time for the April Collector Club newsletter! Surprisingly early this time. If you're a Collector Club member, check your email for more. This month's newsletter includes a feature story about Black Beauty, a giveaway of a glossy Classic Black Beauty, and another tantalizing sneak peek! 

It's the next Exotic Destinations web special, per the newsletter, so all that's left is to guess the destination! And the model, but once again the photo is too zoomed in to really tell much, so...I'll be over here hoping it's not on a mold I collect. Some type of chestnut Appaloosa? Maybe those are manchado markings and the destination is somewhere in Argentina? Guess we'll find out next month! 

March Collector Club newsletter!

 Good news, everyone! The March Collector Club newsletter has been released! If you're a CC member, check your email for more information. This month's cover story is a digitized version of an old video from a Breyer Tour stop in 1996. There's also a giveaway of a set of bears, Breyer's spring sale event, and this sneak peek: 

Looks like something roany. It's a new release for Collector Club members, so maybe this year's Classic gambler's choice? Or more April Fool blind bags? Hope we find out soon! 

February Collector Club newsletter!

 Greetings, readers! Well, the February collector club newsletter has been released - if you’re a collector club member, check your email to read it. This month we have a fun article about Breyer’s current-and-past Chinese Year of the Horse releases, including a rare image of some Classics tests. Check it out!

I was just thinking earlier today that we rarely get to see tests on the Classics molds, and it’s even rarer for them to go up for sale. Aren’t these cool? I think I like the yellow one the best, even though my favorite color is blue. And to top it off, there’s a giveaway of a Yan Wu model.

Oh, I definitely need this one

 Greetings, readers! The last Breyerfest special run line model has been revealed - say hello to The Wanderer! Turns out it wasn't a previously-feathered mold after all! 

And it'll be easy to remember his name, because he has his own theme song! Huzzah! From the blog: 

As The Wanderer, he is depicted as a cloaked one-eyed old man, with a long grey beard, carrying his spear Gungnir, and accompanied by his two companion ravens, Hugin and Munin. A wizened old man who can see between the worlds and through time after having sacrificed one of his eyes to Mimir’s well to gain the wisdom of the runes.

...

This bold model, created on the popular Mustang Stallion mold, #801 sculpted by Rayvin Maddock, is decorated in a moody dapple purple/blue complete with a spear face marking, a magical right eye, and raven feathers in his mane and tail.  The Wanderer will be available to VIP, All-Access, and Online Traditional Access ticket holders.

I love him! He looks really good in that color, though I feel like the feathers could stand out more. And why isn't he glossy? None of the special runs are glossy - the last time that happened was 1997, and prior to that year the special runs were keychains. What's going on?

November Collector Club newsletter!

Hoofbeats and Maple Treats Day 1: So this is Canada, eh?

 Greetings, readers! Well, the first day of Hoofbeats and Maple Treats is over, and what a day it was! I had a leisurely morning in my hotel room sleeping in until the late hour of 8:30 AM, when the loud banging noises outside my room became too loud to ignore (not sure what they were working on in the hallway). Since I didn't have the foresight to rent a car so I could do some sightseeing (not realizing Niagara Falls is only 1.5 hours away), I spent the morning relaxing in my room and playing some Witcher 3. All too soon, it was time to head downstairs and get signed in for the event...and here are our special run models for the event! 

Of those, Caesar and Pitter Patter are the only ones I want. But they're both in the blue group, so I'll only be able to pick one (if they aren't all gone by the time I get up there). I don't want either of the models in the green group, but maybe I can partially trade one of them toward the one I don't get from the blue group? Who knows. 

Anyway, after signing in was done, I went up to my room and unwrapped my event models!



 













After more Witcher 3, I went back downstairs to get on the bus to Woodbine. Here's a not-so-great photo of Woodbine in the distance!

The rest of my photos are on my other camera, so that's all you get for now. After hors de'ouvres and a few races, and some exploring of Woodbine, we headed back to the hotel. And that's it for the event for today! More tomorrow, obviously. 

In other news, this year's JAH is showing up in people's mailboxes! I don't have photos of the revelations yet, but there's a silver filigree Fighting Stallion and mini Fighting Stallion set, and one of the releases in next year's Vintage Club is a lamp featuring the Vanner Foal. Both things I don't need to buy, woohoo!

Collector Club newsletter and a few more auction models!

 More good news, everyone! A few more auction models were revealed today - behold! 

It's a pretty leopard appaloosa Marabella! So cute. 

We saw most of the other reveals yesterday, except for this stunner:

Whoa! It's safe to say we have our top seller here, but will he break the $75,000 record from 2022? I suspect this one will be disappearing off to Australia, never to be seen again. But I could be wrong. It's cool that they put the wings on him, but I think I prefer this guy from last year. I like the detail of the blue color with gold mapping, though. 

In other news, the June Collector Club newsletter came out today! There's an article about drastic customizing, a Big Lex giveaway, an update on the upcoming collector event Hoofbeats and Maple Treats (entries will now open in July), and this sneak peek! 

I suspect this is the next Collector Club special run, to be revealed at Breyerfest, but I guess we'll find out soon! Only two weeks until Breyerfest, and I still have to do a lot of prep for the show...eep! Better get to it! 

May Collector Club newsletter!

 Good news, readers! It’s that time of the month again - time for the Collector Club newsletter! If you’re a club member, check your email for more details. This month’s feature story covers the history of past collector events, and includes a sneak peek of the ticket model for the upcoming Hoofbeats and Maple Treats collector event! 

Another Bristol? He was the ticket model for the Seattle Soirée in 2020, and is being used for this year’s Breyerfest, but okay then…

Anyway, the newsletter also has a giveaway of a Cloud model to one lucky winner, plus this sneak peek:

Looks like the Classic/Freedom Series rearing mustang, also known as American Dream. There’s some debate over whether his white areas are glowing, which would make him a Halloween release. But it hasn’t been all that long since EEK! was a Halloween model, so it seems odd to use him for that again. Guess we’ll see what it is next month!

April Collector Club Newsletter!

 Right on time at the end of the month, it’s time for the April Collector Club newsletter! If you’re a club member, check your email to see if. The feature article is about the Small Poodle mold, there’s a 75th Anniversary giveaway, a link to their latest blog post about Salud (with an aggravating typo - it’s forward, not forwards!) and there’s also this shiny sneak peek! 

…Or there would be, if I wasn’t having technical issues. Anyway, it’s something glossy and black. Not sure what it could be, unless it’s another Collector Club special run or something for the Collector Club Appreciation(glossy 75th Anniversary Spanish Horse?). That’s usually in June though, so it would be a bit early if it’s that. It’s also kinda early to be glossing the Spanish Horse, or at least it seems early. Oh well. 

Mallorca winners and March CC Newsletter!

 Well, readers, the selections for Mallorca are out - and I’m a winner! Woohoo! Now if I can get my husband to pay for it (it’s my birthday next week!) things will be great!

February Collector Club newsletter!

 Well, it’s the last day of February, and the Collector Club newsletter is here! If you’re a Club member, check your email to read it. There’s a 75th Anniversary article about concept art, a feature article about Breyerwest special runs, a giveaway of a glossy Chardonnay, and this sneak peek!

Well, it has dapples, and it’s probably a buckskin, but other than that, who knows what it is. Probably the next web special - maybe somewhere with sandy beaches, given the color? Hope we don’t have to wait too long to find out!

It's time for another Collector Club newsletter!

 Well, it's that time again, folks - time for the January Collector Club newsletter! If you're a Collector Club member, check your email. The feature article is all about the Black Stallion series and Breyer's portrait models of them - huzzah! I was a huge Black Stallion fan as a young, horse-crazy kid. Still am, really - I still have my Black Stallion books. Reading through the article, I'm super-pleased to see them refer to said black stallion properly, as "the Black," rather than "The Black," which I see irritatingly often. 

As for the Black Stallion mold itself, I never thought it properly captured the Black's essence - the Classics mold is a lot closer. I suspect Chris Hess took a lot of inspiration from the original cover art for the book when sculpting the Classic, which makes one wonder where (if anywhere) he got his inspiration for the rather lackluster Traditional version. I think the Ruth Sanderson cover art captured the Black best - any of those poses would make great Breyer models. But that's just my opinion. 

Anyway, there's also a spotlight on sculptor Chris Hess, a Black Stallion giveaway, and this fuzzy sneak peek:

In other news, the Breyerfest contests have been announced! Interestingly, the names of the Best Customs Contest prizes are in the official rules - the Traditional is "Szurkol" (which has a few different meanings in Hungarian, including cheering for something, crossing one's fingers, supporting something, etc) and the Stablemate is "Skål" (Swedish for "cheers"). Calling it now - Szurkol is a black or chestnut variation of Adonis (NOOOOO!!!!) and Skål is some type of Lyric? Hmm, I may need to think that one over a bit more. 

December 2024 Collector Club Newsletter and more reveals!

 Hark, readers! The December Collector Club Newsletter approaches! If you’re a Collector Club member, check your email for more. There’s a giveaway of a full set of 2023 Premier Club models, a preview of some of Breyer’s offerings for next year (all stuff we’ve seen except for the Western Horse, which we haven’t officially seen yet but was part of the leaks earlier this week), and this sneak peek:

The photo appears to be something mildly scandalous the new Longhorn Bull for 2025, according to Facebook. Speaking of the 2025 releases, word on the street is that Breyer has decreed that they not be released until Jan. 1. So presumably I’ll have a lot of things to talk about that day! Huzzah.

In other news, the gambler’s choice model for the 2025 Stablemates Club has been released! Say hello to Chickadee(s)!

The colors are nice, but I don’t collect the Dungaree mold, so this means I can get away with one Stablemates Club membership for yet another year! It’s a Christmas miracle. I was sure they’d pick something like mini Fireheart or Georg for next year, since they seem to be going all out for the 75th anniversary. 

In other other news, another silhouette has been revealed on the Breyerfest Blog!

Yay, the customized G2 Thoroughbred isn’t going to disappear into the ether, never to be seen again! I’m pretty sure this is another Stablemate single-day model. What are they even called now that single-day tickets aren’t a thing anymore? I don’t have my Breyerfest programs handy to check. Anyway, this is another one I’m going to have to pick up, so I’m 2 for 4 so far. Watch the next two turn out to also be things I want, to make up for not wanting any of them in 2024. Well, bring on the reveals!
