Breyerfest Closeups: Remaining Stablemates Club Models

Greetings, readers! We're moving right along with the Breyerfest Closeups and covering the remaining Stablemates Club releases today. Presumably Touche, the matte and glossy G4 Driving Horse, will be the next release, so I'll start with those.

Touche will be available in matte and glossy finish, shipped at random (as usual). I don't want either one of them, so I guess mine will be for sale!

I guess I only got one picture of the two of them together, but they're visible in some of the other photos. Oops! Guess I'll talk about Bijou, the gambler's choice model, next.

I think I like the decorator the best - I love that color!

The gray one is my second favorite. She's like a mini version of Sapporo.

The palomino (sorrel) is a lot like Hendrik, and the appaloosa is a lot like Nero. Presumably these will be released in October. Next, here's Derecho, the last release!

The glossy one is the normal release, and the pinto is the run of 75 that will be randomly sent out with the normal ones.

I do like this guy, so I hope I get both of them! He looks like he's really feeling his oats.

This one should be released in December, along with Astoria, the optional release. Here she is!

So she was customized to add feather, the braided tail, thick mane with braid and the mane flights.

Look at the detail on her mane braid! Amazing.

I'm excited for this one! Definitely excited for December, though I probably won't see mine until later. Oh well.

That's it for today. More Breyerfest Closeups are coming soon!

Holiday catalogs are arriving!

Greetings, readers! I know this is somewhat old news, but I wanted to wait for my catalogs to arrive before I talked about it. If you've seen this year's holiday catalog, there are some 2026 reveals! Woohoo! Uh, I didn't scan the cover of the catalog, but it's a photo of a little girl with this year's Holiday Horse. Anyway, here are the first two reveals!

To the left we have Georgina, presumably the first release in the 2026 Premier Club. She's the sneak peek that was teased in Stephanie's Breyerfest seminar! Huzzah! I like her a lot, but then someone online pointed out that her head looks too small and now it's all I see. So hopefully it's just an optical illusion from the photo angle or something. I'm excited to see more of this one!
On the left we have Astoria...which...is one of the releases in the 2026 Stablemates Club. Normally I really like the G3 Belgian, but this one doesn't appeal to me at all. I don't think the Belgian has quite the right body type to masquerade as a Clydesdale? But I could be wrong. I'm not crazy about the added hair (or the mustache), but maybe I'll like it better in person. I'm slightly annoyed about them reusing a mold, also. But enough complaining! Here are the other reveals:

On the left is Lavinia, the first (I'm assuming) Collector Club special run of 2026! Ooh, she's pretty! She almost makes me sad I sold my Rhiannons, but then I remember not liking her mouth and I feel better. Definitely not going to try to buy those back anytime soon. She's basically a less-detailed version of this auction model from 2024.
And on the right is Kiana, the 2026 Deluxe Collector Club model on the new mini Zara/PAM! I'm probably going to keep my Madonna, so I guess I'm obligated to join the Deluxe club to keep that collection complete. I mean, she is pretty, though. Too bad she isn't glossy!

That's it for today. I hope we get some more exciting reveals soon!

All's well that ends well

Good news, everyone! My second and final Spooky Surprise Stablemate is here and...I got Mini Samhain! Woohoo!

She's got some small flaws, unfortunately, but I'm just glad I got the other one I wanted. Yay!

I'll be happy to add her to my Stablemates herd. My only small complaint is that her tail ribbons aren't painted. Really? You put all that detail in her paint job, but left out the tail ribbons? Bleh. But that's a pretty small nitpick, like I said.

Also, this year's Pony for Christmas release, Kohl, is now available to order on the website!

Ooh, Spooky!

Good news, everyone - this year's Halloween items have been announced! Breyer's Halloween store will open on the website at 1PM EST tomorrow. Look at the goodies they'll have for us! Other than Maelstrom, this year's Halloween horse we already knew about, check out the Classics/Freedom Series release for this year!

I love this one! Her name is Tabitha and I think it fits her really well. Too bad I'm not a Mariah collector, but I bet she'd go really well with the purple/blue Gran Cavallo from last year! And she glows in the dark, natch. Breyer really likes those interference paints lately, huh?

And here are the blind bag (sigh) Stablemates for this year!

I'm not thrilled about blind bags rearing their ugly heads again, but the Samhain and Mischief Night patterns do look pretty good in miniature. Apparently Samhain's green areas glow in the dark, which could be an interesting sight. It's good to see new releases on these molds, too - it seems like a lot of the Stablemates molds get left out in the cold for some reason. I suppose I'll order two of these (the number I would buy if I was allowed to pick the ones I want) and hope I actually get the ones I want.

And check out this year's plush!

His name is Skelly! Cute as usual! Not sure what the orange stripes on his lower legs are supposed to be, though. Oh well.

There's also a Maelstrom pin and hoodie - I'm sorely tempted by both, but I tend to favor zippered hoodies lately, so I don't know if I'll bite. I guess we'll see how fast they sell out! Good luck, everyone!

Priscilla is here!

Good news, everyone! My Priscilla came today!

Isn't she a beauty? She's not very good about standing up, though (a common occurrence with this mold). Maybe my other one will be better? I haven't ordered that one yet - I'm waiting to see if I can bundle shipping with the Collector Club Valegro that has yet to be released.

I love her green and purple tail ribbons! Check them out:

They look like somebody colored them with a gel pen - and I don't mean that in a bad way. Quality-wise, she's pretty great - I didn't see anything wrong with her. If she stood better, she'd be perfect!

That's all I have for today - sorry to be so brief. The next release will be out in December - I'm excited to see what the final paint job will look like for him, since we haven't seen that yet. Hopefully we don't have to wait too much longer! And we should be seeing this year's last Premier Club sculpt soon as well. Let's hope it's a looker!

Priscilla is now available!

Wow, that was quick. Priscilla, the next Stablemate Club release, is now available:

She's one of the releases I've been most excited about, so the faster she gets here the better! I can't wait. Both of the kids have been sick this week and I think I'm starting to come down with whatever they have, so I could really use a pick-me-up!

Priscilla!

There was another exciting Stablemate Club reveal yesterday - the G3 Belgian! Meet Priscilla!

Although I'm not wild about her name, I do love the paint job. She actually bears some resemblance to Arosa from yesterday! Like Arosa, I love the contrast of the black spots on the gray/white areas of her coat. Nice! And I'm really relieved to see she's not involved with another gambler's choice in any way...I think I would have died if she'd been the gambler's choice instead of the Highland Pony. Bring on Priscilla!

All 2019 Stablemate Club silhouettes are revealed!

Another reveal on the SMC blog - the last two silhouettes! Here they all are together.

So we're getting TWO new molds next year? That's a new one! I'm not terribly excited by the other new mold, though; he'll probably get sold on. And the G3 Belgian?! I've been hoping she'd show up in the club for years! Huzzah!

Now all I have to do is hope they tell us which of the molds is the gambler's choice, so I know if I need more than one membership or not. If the G3 Belgian or Mirado are the gambler's choice (or the Carrick-esque new mold, for that matter), I'll definitely have to renew all three of our memberships. Hopefully it's one of the other three molds so I can get away with only having one membership again next year.

Featured Model - 6/30/2018, London Pride

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured Model, the weekly blog event where I pick a model from my collection, give some stats on it and provide commentary about it. We're dipping back into the Stablemates this week with...London Pride!

This pretty lady was produced for Breyerfest 2012. She was a run of 1,000 on the G3 Belgian mold sculpted by Jane Lunger. Along with three other Stablemates, she was one of the four possible One-Day Stablemates that year, all issued as item #711141.

The four One-Day Stablemates that year were all draft models named after beers, but apparently people didn't like (or just didn't get) Breyer's little joke about draft models = draft beers, because all four of them were readily available in the Breyer Store in 2013. That's where I snagged my three, and fell into a trap of foolishly not buying single-day tickets because I thought I'd just be able to find leftovers in the store the following year. I'm not sure why I kept doing that beyond 2013, because it's not like anyone was going to find leftovers of the 2013 One-Day Stablemates in 2014 - they were too popular!

I did finally start buying one-day tickets in 2016 (Still looking for a Crepe Suzette, by the by), but I'm not sure why it took me so long to learn my lesson about that. Just buy the stupid tickets!

Okay, enough yelling at myself. Back to the model. I really like this color on her - she's not just a flat black, but more of a smoky black. Plus she has all that bling going on, and a layer of gloss to boot! She's one of my favorite G3 Belgians.

We still haven't seen the G3 Belgian show up in the Stablemate Club, but hopefully next year! I have a weakness for drafters, and I'd love to see her used again! I did attend the local draft horse show in my town last week, though, so I may still have drafters on my mind. Ooh, what if they used her for next year's gambler's choice? There are still plenty of colors to paint her in - I bet she'd be a hit! Crossing my fingers.

Featured Model - 3/18/2017, Cream Soda

Hello and welcome to Featured Model, the weekly blog event where I pick a model from my collection, give some stats on it and provide commentary about it. This week's model is...Cream Soda!

That's right - a Stablemate! I've been featuring Traditional molds since the beginning of the blog, so I decided to branch out a little bit this week.

Cream Soda was a store special (item #711307) at Breyerfest 2007 - wow, 10 years ago this July! She appears to have been one of the first special runs issued on the G3 Belgian mold sculpted by Jane Lunger. As a run of 2500, she's not terribly difficult to find, and she's also a keychain! Not that I would ever use a Stablemate keychain as an actual keychain - they're way too big. But I digress.

I really like the color on this model - she's a beautiful shimmery palomino color and it appeals to me a lot. The G3 Stablemate molds get flak from some hobbyists because of their thicker legs and more cartoonish appearances, but they're meant to be toys anyway, so if the legs are a little too thick, so be it. And this mold is the only model horse I've ever seen that's capable of standing on two feet! Normally that third foot does touch the ground, but I have a few examples of the mold that are capable of standing on the left front/right hind legs alone. Nifty!

She's in the current regular run line (the Gentle Giants four-piece set), so at least she's getting used currently. I wonder if that will make her more likely to show up in this year's Stablemate Club? I wouldn't mind seeing her used in that. Here's hoping!
