So an email went out from Breyer yesterday about next year's Premier Club. The subject line said it contained a new hint about the club! Turns out there's a mare and foal set in next year's club! Huzzah! So that means it was sculpted by either Maggie Bennett or Morgen Kilbourn. I like mare and foal sets, but I don't generally like Morgen's style (Bristol is the exception), so I hope Maggie sculpted them. Nothing against Morgen or anything.
Also, I guess next year's Kid's Club horses are being sent out after all! I saw a picture of one on Facebook. Well, I definitely need to get my hands on one eventually!

First Breyerfest special run and January Collector Club newsletter!

In other news, the January collector club newsletter was released today, so CC members should check their email. They're doing a model giveaway every month for the entire year as part of the 70th anniversary celebration, and check out the first giveaway!

There was also an interesting "berry"-themed sneak peek in the newsletter:

With the "berry" clue, my first thought was the less-than-popular Berries Ponies series of web specials from 2016, but more savvy Blabbers and Facebookers have suggested it could refer to Huckleberry Bey as well. Maybe Huck is getting his first web special? Exciting!

Bucky?

I have no idea what that could be, and neither does most of the rest of the hobby, unfortunately. A bull, maybe? If you save the photo, "Bucky" makes up part of the file name, which might indicate a bull, confusing as that would be. I think most people were expecting to see a dog mold, since bulls aren't really known for their heroic exploits. I saw some other speculation that it might be the Buffalo, which makes even less sense than a bull. All of Breyer's dog molds are pretty old, though, except for the Companion Animal dogs - and those are pretty small, so I doubt Breyer would use them. Maybe it's a Mountain Goat? Lots of goats serve as horses' companion animals, although they usually aren't of the mountain goat variety. Your guess is as good as mine on this one, honestly. It's probably a bull, I guess? I'm rather partial to the Charolais Bull, myself - not that I'd buy it. Hopefully we see what it is before Friday, but I'm not getting my hopes up!

Yet another hint on the blog!
Hello, readers! Exciting news - there's another Breyerfest clue on the blog!
It's...a hoof? Okay, I admit this isn't much to go by, and I thought it looked like Carrick's left front hoof at first, but the consensus on the Internets is that it's Roxy's left front hoof. Which, given the wording on the blog, would make sense:
For our next Special Run model we hunted through countless breeds and disciplines, the wild woodlands and amazon isles, and even went as far as the moon for our inspiration.
This is pretty clearly a reference to Wonder Woman, but I also wonder if it means we'll get multiple Roxys with different hairdos? Kinda interesting to do that after she already had a variety of hairstyles when she was the surprise model in 2013, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm guessing her color will be a nice red bay, since red features so prominently in Wonder Woman's costume.
Since the blog mentions Valentine's Day, I'm hoping we see the model reveal on Thursday rather than Friday! Crossing my fingers!

Another clue on the blog!

Looks like some type of Appaloosa, maybe? From the blog:
Our next Special Run model made a brief appearance in 2018 as one of our live auction molds. Can you guess who this is?
Hmm, the plot thickens. Taking a quick look at the molds used in last year's auction, here are what I think are the likely contenders:
Wyatt
Bouncer
Cigar
Marwari
Wixom
Smart Chic Olena
Ashquar
Salinero
While I haven't taken the time to compare the muscling in the clue photo to any actual models, I'm thinking this is probably SCO (not my favorite mold - I'd prefer Bouncer or Ashquar, or even the Marwari). SCO's appeared at Breyerfest numerous times, but never in the special run line. Could this be his time to shine? Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow!

The Plot Thickens
So I got an email from Breyer yesterday. From its subject line, I thought it was just another generic "Buy more Breyerfest tickets!" sort of email. But then I saw the text - and the formatting from the email came with the text! Yay for the joys of copy and paste!
I hoped there would be more reveals this week, since we still haven't seen a Stablemate or a crystal for the pop-up tent. But this blurb of text just raises more questions. The only iconic Indian animal I can think of is a tiger, and Breyer doesn't have any tiger molds. Maybe they'll do something similar to Hear Me Roar for the Stablemate? A mini-me of Padma on the the G3 Mustang to match his lion counterpart could be cool. (I'd suggest the Padma mini-me be on the G2 Thoroughbred, but it's already being used as a single-day Stablemate.) As for the next question..."What favorite Breyer materials might be molded into the next reveal?" What the heck is that supposed to mean? It suggests something molded from more than one material, which...isn't something Breyer generally does. Favorite materials? Breyer only molds things from cellulose acetate, styrene, resin, porcelain or crystal. Maybe it's a badly-worded reference to the crystal? Who knows.
In other news, I decided I want a Marigold after all. I managed to find two of the other releases on that mold for cheap on eBay, so now I have a Gemini gracing my entertainment center and an Onyx being held hostage by the post office. I haven't decided if I want to buy the actual Best in Show Arabian yet - I'm not a fan of haired models and the eyes look terrible. Maybe if I can find one cheaply enough I'll pull the trigger. I LOVE Marigold, though - and if the pop-up tent Stablemate is on a mold I collect, it'll definitely be worth going through the Breyer Bazaar line this year. Crossing my fingers!
You’ve met only a few of the exciting models on offer in the BreyerFest Bazaar:
Holi, Lotus and Marigold
There are More Models to Reveal!
There are more exciting new introductions in your future! Can you guess what they will be? What iconic Indian animal have we missed? What favorite Breyer materials might be molded into the next reveal? Will we have a crystal release this year?

Woohoo, another hint on the blog!
Whoo - we do get to see two SRs this week! Breyer put up another new hint on the blog!
I'm guessing this is the Fighting Stallion, but no idea what "region in West Bengal" is referring to, or what color he will be. Maybe Darjeeling, and the model will be a reference to tea? We'll have to wait and see. The blog said the model would be revealed "later this week," but today is Thursday, so...we'll probably see it tomorrow. Let's hope so!
Our next special run model is on one of Chris Hess's most iconic sculpts. And because we're feeling generous this fine Thursday morning we'll let you know that the model is named after a region in West Bengal with a rich history.

Another Breyerfest hint, and Beachcomber is showing up in some stores!
There's already a new Breyerfest hint on the blog! Wow, I didn't think they'd reveal two SRs in the same week. Or maybe they'll make us wait until Monday...who knows.
Interesting...it could be referring to the Hindu goddess Kali. The most logical conclusion to draw from that could be some type of black mare, or so the discussion is going on Blab. From Wikipedia:
So, a black Yasmin, maybe? Or...a glossy black Yasmin? Ooh, that would be nice. But it would be kind of similar to Sokkar; not sure if Breyer would want to do that. Another enterprising Blabber discovered that "kaalee" is the Hindu word for pepper, but I haven't been able to find a source for that. Perhaps this refers to a (glossy?) dapple gray Yasmin, instead? For what it's worth, I figured it was an alternate spelling of Kali, so I'm going to stick with the black Yasmin theory. Just as long as the model doesn't look like this, I guess?
In other, less exciting news, Beachcomber models are becoming available to the general public, and it looks like they're selling out fast! She certainly seems popular. I'm not buying one, but don't wait too long to get yours, or they might sell out!
And just like that we're onto the next, Kaalee! For our next Special Run model the next clue is in the name. Keep checking the Breyer Blog to see the horse unveiled soon!

Kālī is the feminine form of kālam ("black, dark coloured"). Kālī also shares the meaning of "time" or "the fullness of time" with the masculine noun "kāla"—and by extension, time as "changing aspect of nature that bring things to life or death." Other names include Kālarātri ("the black night"), and Kālikā ("the black one").
