Featured JAH - 9/6/2025, Summer 2011

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're moving right along through 2011, so let's get started with this week's issue!

On the front cover, a doll gives an Idocus (Ravel?) a bath.

On the inside front cover, we have blurbs about Bear and Prince Jester and a small ad for an Elvis and His Horses music box.

In the Editor's Desk, the Editor previews the guests for Breyerfest 2011 and announces the JAH Fall Finale, to be seen next issue.

On page 2, Swirling Sky makes his debut! This model was the last Connoisseur model I bought direct from Breyer (the only other one being Masquerade in 2001). I'm still a little annoyed that they didn't use Weather Girl for this release rather than repeating a mold (the Moody ASB had previously been Tortuga). I mean, the clearware Weather Girl was already in production for the Treasure Hunt, so it shouldn't have been that hard to use her. It would have been a great sendoff for her five-year stay in the vault. I suppose they didn't want to over-use her, but still.

Letters to the Editor appears on page 3, along with a Guess Who?.

On page 4 is an "Insider's Guide to Breyerfest" featuring the three resin models that appeared in the Breyer Store that year (they're labeled incorrectly, as Prince Charming is the one on the bottom that's now a Stablemate).

On page 5 we have a listing of all the Breyerfest special run models, minus the Spun Gold Surprise (the first year we didn't know the mold for the surprise in advance).

On page 6 we have a how-to article about showmanship. Don't you dare mistake it for halter, now.

The showmanship article concludes on page 7.

On page 8, this issue's Model Horse Show article features fantasy! Huzzah!

On page 9 we have The Artist's Sketch, featuring Morgen Kilbourn!

This week's Vintage Point, featuring chalky models, starts on page 10.

Vintage Point concludes on page 11.

After skipping the Calendar of Events and the inside back cover (summer reading, featuring books published by Breyer), we've arrived at the back cover! Sato and TS Black Tie Affair are featured. And with that we've reached the end of this week's issue! It's another short one. But fear not, because next week's Fall Finale issue is huge! See you next week.
