Lots of things to post about today!

Well, we had a little bit of a dry spell the last few days- but it was definitely broken today! First off: 2024 Stablemates Club members can now order Augustus, the last release in the club:

I'm excited for this little fellow! The optional release, the Hadley and Holden set, is also available:

I'll be ordering both of these releases, though I only want the Standing Foal version of Holden. Let's hope my luck is in with that one.

In other news, we got another reveal for the 2025 Stablemates Club today! Behold, Spencer:

Pretty color, but I'm not interested in the mold, so he'll be for sale.

Lastly, registrations for various BreyerMidWest activities will go on sale this Wednesday at 1pm EST! I'm tentatively considering attending this year so I can get a glossy Marc of Charm, so I may end up reporting from the event just like Breyerfest! We'll see.

That's it for today - let's hope we get more exciting reveals soon! And the last Premier Club release!

Breyerfest Closeups: Remaining Stablemates Club Releases

Greetings, readers! Well, we've reached the last of our Breyerfest Closeups for this year! The thrilling conclusion is...the rest of the releases for the 2024 Stablemates Club! Behold!

Here we have all the colors of Miguel, the gambler's choice for this year. I don't collect the Stablemate Donkey mold, so I don't need any of these for my own collection, but I do like the blue one.

The placements of the Stablemates may vary a little bit in these photos, because the floor shifted as I was taking photos of them and caused them to take an unfortunate tumble all over the table.

They sure are cute, though.

I'm a little surprised that none of them are glossy. You'd think the blue one would be, at least.

Next is Dylan. I'm guessing he's the August release? I don't think they'd release the gambler's choice this early, but who knows.

He's pretty, and while his paint job is slightly better-executed than the very similar Phineas from a couple years ago.

Next is the optional release for this year. I guess I only got one photos of these guys. Oh well - the color is nice, but I don't need the mare or the lying-down foal, so I hope I get the one I want. Insert grumble about gambler's choice stuff here.

Last is Augustus, the final release in this year's club. I like him! He's like a spicy little drafter.

I love his swishy tail!

That's all I have for today. Let's hope we get more exciting Breyer news soon!

Premier Club and Vintage Club Stablemates are finally arriving!

Check your mailboxes, everyone - the free Stablemates from the 2019 Premier and Vintage Clubs are finally arriving! As a reminder, the Premier Club Stablemate is Charleston, the mini Hamilton, and the Vintage Club set is Misty and Stormy on the G1 Quarter Horse Mare and G3 Standing Foal. I hope my Charleston gets here soon - I've arranged to trade him for the Vintage Club set, so I want to get the ball rolling on that as soon as possible!

I posted too soon!

Clearly I jumped the gun on my Lucien post yesterday. We also got the reveal of this year's Vintage Club bonus Stablemates:

For a second I almost thought they'd converted the Performing Misty porcelain over to plastic before I remembered the G1 QHM. I wonder if these will have the same nose issues Primrose had? I hope not. It looks like they're going to be a popular set! I'm not interested in the Misty, but I do collect the foal mold...so hopefully I can get my hands on it at some point. Maybe I could trade this year's Premier Club Stablemate for the set? I hope so.

In other exciting news, Breyer may have low-key revealed the last Premier Club model of the year, by including its silhouette in these 70th Anniversary products on the website - a journal, towel and blanket.

Take a look at the upper center area of the blanket, in between Lonesome Glory and Lady Phase. It looks like a drafter, labeled "2019." Could it be the elusive Premier Club draft sculpted by Brigitte Eberl! The hobby thinks so! Opinions are mixed at the moment, but I'm hesitant to say I like it just yet. From going by the silhouette, so far I see the same problem Stone's Bunny mold has: I like the front end, but not the back end. It just looks...odd. Hopefully the actual mold will look better, but who knows. If I do end up liking him, it'll be the second year in a row I ended up keeping all three of the PC releases...so we'll have to see.

Edited the post to add this teaser for the PC model, posted on the Premier Club blog today:

Not sure why the background is black. Anyway, it definitely looks promising! I'm hoping for a nice bay or blue roan, myself. Looks like we'll find out next week!

That's all the news I can find for the moment! Hopefully we get more exciting reveals soon!

2018 Stablemates are here!

Greetings, readers! In lieu of more exciting things to talk about this week, I'm going to talk about some of the new for 2018 Stablemate models. I've been trying to cut back on purchases lately, so the only 2018 releases I've gotten have been Stablemates. Behold!

I'm a bit short on time today, so I don't have very many photos of these. But they include a couple of the new Stablemates Single Assortment models, the stallion and foal from one of the new Mystery Foal sets, and the TWH, Cantering Warmblood, Django and Andalusian from the new blind bag assortment.

I think they're all really nice, but the standout here is, of course, the Django. His color is very metallic and attractive, and it makes everything else look dull by comparison (except maybe the buckskin Andalusian).

As usual, I wish Django's sculpt had been adapted to plastic a little better - he looks so stunning from either side that it's sad to see how narrow he is. Plus, he's just a tad out of scale compared to other Stablemates. Friesians are big, but not that big.

That said, I do like the color on the buckskin Andalusian as well - it's more of a buttermilk shade. And the perlino foal is so cute! The Icelandic is a little plain - I'd like to see some white on him, but that's a small nitpick. And the black pinto rearing Arabian is like a budget version of Oscar.

Sadly, I wasn't lucky enough to get a copper Django from the 8 blind bags I ordered, so I'm still on the hunt for him. Hopefully his price comes down eventually.

As for the quality on these, I didn't see anything majorly wrong with them, which was nice. I hope the Spirit Series 2 blind bags are as nice!

Featured Model - 11/18/2017, Mini Corazon

Hello and welcome to yet another edition of Featured Model, the weekly blog event where I pick a model from my collection, give some stats on it and provide commentary about it. This week's model is...Mini Corazon!

This little guy was part of a set, Mini Hermoso and Corazon, that was the free gift to Premier Club members back in 2015. They were miniature versions of that year's mare and foal set, Hermosa and Corazon. Since Breyer doesn't like to announce how many of the Premier Club models are produced for some reason, run numbers on this set are unknown - but I'd guess around 750. This model was issued on the G3 Standing Foal sculpted by Jane Lunger.

I tend to be ambivalent about Stablemate foal molds for some reason - they just kind of accumulate on my shelves when they get bought as part of other sets. That's how my collection on this mold got started - when I received this set at the end of 2015. But this mold grew on me quickly, as he is pretty cute. Little Corazon was my first on this mold, but now I have 10 of them - so Little Corazon has plenty of company!

This set themselves are pretty cute, though I wish mine didn't have gloss flaws. Otherwise they look pretty nice - they both have snappy paint jobs. Time will tell where Breyer uses this mold next - we're due for some new releases next year, so maybe we'll get this guy in a new color! We'll find out soon.
