Fall Releases are announced!

 Exciting news, everyone - Breyer's fall releases have been announced! Say hello to the Fall Decorator, Jewels:

Dealers are only being allowed to purchase 18 of these initially, but there's no word on whether they'll join the regular line next year like Equidae did. So I guess we'll have to wait and see. 

Next, here's this year's brick-and-mortar special run! 

Certainly an interesting color on Bobby Jo, and she's glossy! She's limited to 3,000 pieces, but not all of them will be delivered this year due to shipping delays (as usual). So get your orders in early! 

There's also a new puzzle, featuring many popular unicorn releases over the years - including a flipped Alaric! Check it out: 

Seems weird to see Huck flipped like that. Oh well. Uh, he also needs to look where he's going before he trots right off that cliff and ends up in the water! Haha. 

None of this is anything I need - it's been a great year for cutting back on my model horse purchases! That gloss on Kendall is pretty nice, though.

Fall releases!

 Exciting news, everyone - Breyer's Fall Releases have been revealed! Say hello to Steele, this year's brick-and-mortar special run: 

Ooh, a new Wyatt! Nothing I need, fortunately. This is the brick-and-mortar release, which means dealers aren't allowed to sell it online. So...good luck finding one in the wild, I guess! I'm just glad I don't want it, so I don't have to scramble to try to find one somewhere that's somewhat local to me. 

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of this next release...

A glossy rainbow Othello?! Be still, my heart...my almost-complete conga must remain almost-complete! Someone on Blab pointed out how they reversed the colors on him this time, and I really like it! What a beauty. I love the shade of purple, blue and red/pink they used. I've reserved one from the "somewhat" local dealer I found last year, so I should have one joining the herd sometime next month...or whenever they arrive from Breyer. No sign of my Thriller yet, by the by...but anyways. 

There's also a new series of Mini Whinnies blind bags! 

Interesting to note that these are all the "old" Mini Whinnies - none of the new molds from recent years are pictured here, unless this is an old picture? Not sure. 

And now for something (almost) completely different...a puzzle? 

I had to scrutinize the picture to make sure those were all releases we've seen so far, and I think they are - they all look familiar, anyway. I have to admit I'm not the biggest puzzle person, but I'm considering getting this. Hmm...maybe once Collector Club Appreciation time arrives and I'm looking to pad out my order? 

Fall Releases are out!

Good news, everyone! Breyer's fall releases were announced today! I'll start with this year's brick-and-mortar special run, Khalid:



A new Marwari? With the non-Marwari ears? Sign me up! I have to admit, I like the Marwari version better (especially with his original hair), but this guy looks nice. I'll be excited to see what that belly spot looks like in person!

Next, the Fall Limited Edition:

He's limited to 3000 pieces, and he's definitely interesting! His color is based on black opal. I love opals, so of course I had to order this one. I hope he's as striking as a real black opal, although I don't know what types of paint Breyer would have to use to get the opal effect. I'm guessing he'll be translucent, as well.

Next, a new Classic horse-and-book set:



The Pie, on the Classics Amelia mold! She looks nice, although I don't collect Amelia. Black-and-white pinto is always so striking!

Lastly, we have a couple of Classics unicorn foals!



Say hello to Zoe and Zander! They're cute, but nothing I need to collect. But hey, new unicorns! I'm not going to complain about that.

2017 Brick-and-Mortar special run and Fall Releases revealed!

Just when I thought we weren't going to get anything new today...

 

...it's a loose mane/tail Shannondell! Interesting color, too. Not something I need to buy, thankfully - the mold has never appealed to me and since our local model horse store closed, I don't even know where I'd get one. Better luck next year, Breyer! Good luck to everyone out there who'll be searching for one.

Kinda slim pickings this year for fall releases...I guess the mid-years must have taken up all their production space. But the less I need to spend, the better! Bring on Sugarmaple!
