Lots of things to post about today!

Well, we had a little bit of a dry spell the last few days- but it was definitely broken today! First off: 2024 Stablemates Club members can now order Augustus, the last release in the club:

I'm excited for this little fellow! The optional release, the Hadley and Holden set, is also available:

I'll be ordering both of these releases, though I only want the Standing Foal version of Holden. Let's hope my luck is in with that one.

In other news, we got another reveal for the 2025 Stablemates Club today! Behold, Spencer:

Pretty color, but I'm not interested in the mold, so he'll be for sale.

Lastly, registrations for various BreyerMidWest activities will go on sale this Wednesday at 1pm EST! I'm tentatively considering attending this year so I can get a glossy Marc of Charm, so I may end up reporting from the event just like Breyerfest! We'll see.

That's it for today - let's hope we get more exciting reveals soon! And the last Premier Club release!

Breyerfest Closeups: Remaining Stablemates Club Releases

Greetings, readers! Well, we've reached the last of our Breyerfest Closeups for this year! The thrilling conclusion is...the rest of the releases for the 2024 Stablemates Club! Behold!

Here we have all the colors of Miguel, the gambler's choice for this year. I don't collect the Stablemate Donkey mold, so I don't need any of these for my own collection, but I do like the blue one.

The placements of the Stablemates may vary a little bit in these photos, because the floor shifted as I was taking photos of them and caused them to take an unfortunate tumble all over the table.

They sure are cute, though.

I'm a little surprised that none of them are glossy. You'd think the blue one would be, at least.

Next is Dylan. I'm guessing he's the August release? I don't think they'd release the gambler's choice this early, but who knows.

He's pretty, and while his paint job is slightly better-executed than the very similar Phineas from a couple years ago.

Next is the optional release for this year. I guess I only got one photos of these guys. Oh well - the color is nice, but I don't need the mare or the lying-down foal, so I hope I get the one I want. Insert grumble about gambler's choice stuff here.

Last is Augustus, the final release in this year's club. I like him! He's like a spicy little drafter.

I love his swishy tail!

That's all I have for today. Let's hope we get more exciting Breyer news soon!

What am I looking at here?

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope everyone is having a good January 1, and I hope we all have a great new year ahead of us.

Since it's a new year, it's time for new reveals, I guess! So we have our single-day Stablemates, and...well...I'm just confused by this. Let me badly illustrate this in Paint:

So...celebrating the triumphs of real horses...and then...

...celebrating the real horses by...doing decorators...? I'm so confused right now! Why are they decorators? Why are they jewel tones? Why are they inspired by pop songs, which an astute Blabber pointed out will probably have to be changed later? Why am I rolling my eyes right now?

Well...whatever. I guess I don't have to like everything, and they are nice colors even if I don't collect any of the molds. And Breyer is known for not adhering to themes very well...but this is just bewildering. I think most people were expecting these to be portraits of real horses, or rare breeds or something, so it's all just very confusing. Maybe it's my innate dislike of Taylor Swift and most pop singers taking over, I don't know. Grumble, grumble, get off my lawn, etc.

Anyway, let's hope the next few reveals are really great! I'm looking forward to the 2024 new releases, myself.

Another Breyerfest Stablemate silhouette!

Another day, another silhouette…but this one is for Breyerfest 2024! Huzzah! It’s always great when they reveal things early.

Looks like they’ve decided to finally get their money’s worth out of the Cassidy mold. I wonder if she’ll get a RR release next year too? Anyway, I’m wondering if the descriptions on these are a clue as to what they’ll look like - yesterday’s mentioned a “green light” to speculate as to what it was (something car-related?) and today’s says we won’t have to wait a million years to find out what it is. That’s a relief, I guess. So…does that mean this one will be some kind of primitive dun? How does that tie into the Against All Odds theme? I’m no expert, but I don’t think Cassidy really resembles a Przewalski’s Horse at all, and that’s the only primitive breed I know of that’s survived to modern times. Guess we’ll find out next week.

I forgot to mention this yesterday, but Breyer’s yearly warehouse sale is going on now until 1/1, and Collector Club members get double the usual discount. So if you’re flush with Christmas cash, head on over to the website and do your part to help Breyer empty out their warehouse for the new year.

Cassidy and Duke are now available!

Exciting news for Stablemates Club members - the last offerings in the club, Cassidy and Duke, are now available! Cassidy is the new stock horse sculpt  by Maggie Bennett:

I want to like her, but stock horses generally aren't my thing, and her legs look weird to boot. Maybe she'll look better in person? I hope so. I'm in the process of selling all of mine, though, so I probably won't get to see one for a while.

Anyway, this year's optional SMC release, Duke, is also now available!

The Clydesdale Stallion is also not really my thing, so I won't be getting one of these either. Good thing they're optional! I wonder if they're going to do an optional release next year? I hope they reveal some more stuff about the club before signups close. I haven't signed up on any of my accounts yet - I like to hold off as late as possible to prod them to show us more of what we're going to get...since it's our money we're spending, here...

But anyway. The order deadline for these is 12/16, so we've got plenty of time to order!

Stablemates Club sneak peeks!

Breyer saw fit to show us a couple of upcoming releases for the Stablemates Club - including the final model for this year! Here she is:

Yeah, that's...gonna be a no from me, unfortunately. Too beefy for my tastes. The color is pretty, though!

From the blog:

Meet Cassidy, a lovely silver black blanket appaloosa! Although genetically black, Cassisy’s Lp gene (a genetic modifier that results in the “varnish roan” appaloosa pattern) has interacted with her blanket pattern to not only create a loudly spotted white blanket, but has added a “bronzing” effect to her coat as well. This gives her coat a much more brown appearance than the black it genetically is. She is quite a fun foray into the intricacies of equine genetics!

Another silver black, eh? Interesting. Well, she's not my cup of tea, so hopefully I won't have any trouble selling my extras.

We also got a sneak peek of a release for next year!

His name is Atticus, and in case you couldn't tell, he's the shrunken Clydesdale Stallion. Uh, the optional SMC model for this year is also a Clydesdale Stallion, so why use him again? Sure, he's got a new hairdo, but...well, whatever. I guess they have to recoup their investment costs as soon as they can. His color is nice as well, but I've never been a fan of the Clydesdale Stallion, so I don't feel the need to join the club just yet. Signups open next month, so I'm sure they'll have plenty more to show us by then!
