Thoroughbred Champion is now available!

Huzzah, more exciting news! The next release in this year's Vintage Club is now available for purchase! Say hello to Thoroughbred Champion!

I kinda feel like they could have given him an actual name? Seems kind of weird to just have "Thoroughbred Champion" on the nameplate when they could have made something up, or gotten permission to name him after some old-timey racehorse from the 70's. He's definitely pretty, though not something I need to add to my collection. And Breyer posted on Facebook that he can be removed from the base! So if you'd rather display him without the base, you'll have that option.

If you're a member of the Premier Club, I'd suggest holding off on completing your purchase for a few days in case Fireheart shows up soon. The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to see him pop up on the website tomorrow or Friday. The next Stablemate Club release should be out soon too, so I guess Breyer will be draining a lot of our wallets soon!

May Collector Club Newsletter!

Greetings, readers! The Collector Club newsletter for May is out for perusal - check your inboxes! Among other exciting items, there's a recap of the True Blue Breyer collector event from last weekend, including an official photo of True Blue, the raffle model:

She's pretty, but nothing I need. Congrats to the winners!

Also, I have to admit that bingo card gave me a chuckle. Spider sighting indoors...I had one of those the other day! Fortunately it wasn't an Australia-sized spider, or I'd probably still be running away screaming. Anyway...

There's also a quick survey about the newsletter itself, so be sure to fill that out (I mentioned I'd like to see more fan-written content - one thing that always irks me is the plethora of art-related contests Breyer runs all the time and at Breyerfest, but the comparative dearth of writing competitions - give some of us writers a chance to win one of those spectacular prize models! But I digress...).

This month's newsletter giveaway is for a Breyerfest All-Access ticket! Enter for that here.

The newsletter sneak peek for this month is the next Vintage Club model! Behold:

The general consensus online is that this is the glossy dapple bay Terrang on the presentation base. Also nothing I need, and I'm kinda wondering why they bothered to do a sneak peek with this one, since they already told us what it was in the Vintage Club welcome letter. Guess they didn't have anything else they wanted to tease us with this month...sigh. Oh well - hopefully they give us something juicy next month!

New Classic - Coeur de Lion!

There's a new Classics special run on the Breyer website! He's a little mini-Lionheart:

"Inspired by the popular limited edition Lionheart model, Coeur de Lion is ready to find a place of honor in your collection!  We've painted up a favorite Classics sculpt in a rich dunalino with metallic accents. He also has primitive leg barring and a dorsal stripe all topped off with a spotted blanket and heavy gloss. Coeur de Lion is exclusively offered to Breyer Collectors Club members first!* 1/12 scale and comes in a mail order box."

He looks really nice! Too bad I don't collect the Terrang mold...oh well. His price is only $25! I wonder why Triton was $35; his paint job can't have been more complicated than this. Get him here.
