The new Thoroughbred for the SMC is revealed!

They're definitely pushing the signups for the Stablemates Club, aren't they? We got another reveal today - the full paint job for the new Thoroughbred! He was debuted in this video today.



I definitely like him! His name is Grayson and he was sculpted by Heather Puleo. I wonder when he'll be released next year? It would be cool if they "bookended" the year's releases with the two new molds. He's very attractive and I can't wait to see what else Breyer does with him! Unless he becomes the new blind bag chase piece, in which case...no thanks.

Django is now available for purchase!

Django, the last release in the 2016 Stablemate Club, is now available on the website!

I can't wait to add this handsome guy to my collection - he's so stately and dignified! And I like his paint job, too - pinto, but minimal. He'll be a popular one, I bet. I wonder if he'll be one of the single-day Stablemates at Breyerfest next year? That would be pretty cool.

So,  this release wraps up the inaugural year of the Stablemate Club. I didn't have many complaints about the club other than the lack of releases I wanted to keep - but that was always the risk, given the large number of Stablemate molds available and the also-large number of molds I don't collect. A heads-up last January about Primrose being delayed to February would have been nice - we'll see if that happens again. So, here's hoping next year's SMC is a success! All I want from it is more releases I'll keep.

I'm going to hold off on ordering my Django - hopefully Yasmin comes up for order soon so I can combine shipping on them, because sheesh. At this rate they'll be shipping out the bonus Stablemate before Yasmin, and mine will get sent to the wrong address because I presold my Shannondell.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that, though. Crossing my fingers that Yasmin will be available soon!

Diesel, the Penultimate Stablemate Club release, is available!

Wow, that was quick! Our gambler's choice Stablemate Club release is ready, and it's...Diesel, on the G4 Reiner mold!




The available colors are:

Glossy grullo pinto (aka Mauvelous)
Glossy red dun? brindle (Auction SCO from a couple years ago?)
Wedgewood blue
Glossy bay Appaloosa (looks like Bonne Fete)

They are shipped randomly, of course, so we won't know what colors we get until they arrive. Exciting!

Sadly, the reiner just isn't my cup of tea, so I'll be passing ours on to people who want them. So of the six releases in the club, four of them were on molds I don't collect. Hopefully that means next year's club will have better mold choices for me, providing they even continue it next year. I hope it hasn't resulted in too many headaches for Breyer, as it's a fun club. The last two releases have happened fairly early in their release month, so hopefully they have all the kinks ironed out now.

I'll be looking forward to the announcement of next year's Club! Hey, where's my yearly JAH, anyway?

Ricochet is available!

The August Stablemate Club release has been revealed!



Meet Ricochet, on the G3 Rearing Andalusian mold! I love this guy, no matter what anybody says (and I usually hate pink!), although he does elicit thoughts of cotton candy. Crud, now I'm hungry!

Maybe I'm just happy that there's finally a release I won't need to sell. Everyone who guessed this mold can pat themselves on the back for being correct! I can't wait to get mine on order!

August Stablemate Club Rumors...

It's August, and that means the next Stablemate Club release should be coming out soon. I'm really hoping this one is a keeper, because none of the previous three releases were on molds I collect. Fortunately, I've been able to sell them without losing money, but it's disappointing nonetheless. I do want Django, so at least I'll have that, but for a club with six releases, it would be nice if at least a few of them are on molds I actually want.

The latest rumors on Blab are that the new release's name is Ricochet. Current speculation is that this refers to the Rivet mold (Western-ish name?) or the G3 Rearing Andalusian (because of the image on the little satin bags the horses come in). Of the two, I'd definitely prefer the Rearing Andalusian, but I'd be happy if it was pretty much any of the G2s, or possibly the G3 Belgian, Friesian or Cantering Warmblood.

Time will tell if "Ricochet" is the correct name, or Rivet is the correct mold (I kinda doubt it since he was already used for Breyerfest this year and will show up at the end of the year for the Vintage Club freebie). At this point, the best I can hope for is that it's something that gets to stay with me.
