Goodbye, Earl (And Black Friday Early Access)

 Well, the early access Black Friday sale happened - with predictable results. There wasn't anything particularly exciting in the sale - mostly old web specials with a smattering of Collector Club, Stablemate Club, Christmas, Premier Club and Vintage Club stuff. This apparently included exactly two Zugspitze models. Needless to say, lots of people were upset when the predictable cart-yanking happened (even though Breyer warned about super-low quantities on some models). One wonders if more will be added later? Perhaps something for Cyber Monday? Guess we'll find out later. 

In more exciting news, this year's animal web special was revealed! Goodbye Hello Earl: 

He's very handsome, I have to admit. I've always kinda liked the Charolais Bull sculpt. Not enough to buy any (including this guy). Space is at a premium and I'm really more interested in the horses. But...maybe, someday, I'll find some room, somewhere, for a Charolais Bull. 

There are 1,000 of these guys, so it probably won't be hard to get your hands on one if you're not drawn. The entry deadline is 11/25, so don't dawdle! Get those entries in now. 

Breyer's Early Black Friday Sale!

 Oops, I forgot to post about this yesterday. Collector Club members, there's an early Black Friday sale today!

We've plucked some incredible finds from the Breyer vault which include previous Club releases, Web Specials, and more - that's in addition to all the savings you can find in our collection of regular line deals.

I'll be interested to see what they have available - like the email says, usually it's old web specials and unsold club releases, but there could be some juicy stuff in there like Vintage Club stuff that's not normally available to the masses. The sale is happening at 12pm EST today (mildly irritated it's not at 1pm like they usually do), so I'll definitely be checking it out!  

Sirius and Vega!

 Another surprise special run popped up on the website today - Sirius and Vega! Collector cluh members get early access to this cute set.

Named for stars found in the winter sky, this mythical pair will certainly dazzle you! Sirius has a bright white coat, just like his namesake - the brightest star in the sky. With light purple shading and silver hooves and horn, he is both cheerful and elegant. His sister is called Vega after the star that shines blue in the winter night. Vega sports a fantastic blue/purple interference coat, which is accented by her golden hooves and horn.

Although they're cute (and I like the color on the dark one!), they're nothing I need to buy. That's depressingly common with Classic foal sets, since the only Classic foal mold I collect is Hansel. This set makes me wish Breyer would come out with a Trad foal set - I'd love to see some of our more recent Eberl foals in these colors.

Anyway, these guys are priced at $25, which isn't terrible. I wonder how many were made? Breyer doesn't seem to like announcing that on a lot of their Collector Club special runs for some reason. Hopefully we hear eventually.

Early Black Friday sale for Collector Club members!

Today's early morning surprise from Breyer: the annual Black Friday sale!

Currently the sale is only available to Collector Club members, but will open to the general public at some point. Amongst the goodies available: Riptide, the Vintage Club Stablemate; Hermoso and Corazon, the Premier Club Stablemates; Cypress, this year's Vintage Club extra; Tallulah, Moondance and Abdul, CC special runs from the past few years; and the Premier Club Ashquar, among other models. A lot of them are already sold out, so if there's something you're on the fence about buying, don't wait too long!

I didn't buy anything this year, as there wasn't anything I needed, but these sales are fun to see all the same, just to see what they come up with every year.

Also, I've been hearing that the free shipping code on the back page of this year's Breyer catalog (arriving in mailboxes now!) may or may not be compatible with this sale, so don't forget to try it!

Collector Club Black Friday pre-sale!

I got an email this morning that Breyer is having a Black Friday sale, with early access for Collector Club members starting today!



 Included in the sale are things like this year's VC Charlie on the Bobby Jo mold, last year's VC Stablemate Bravo, and various other RR items! Sadly, it looks like Bravo has already sold out, but hurry up and grab a Charlie!
