Featured JAH - 10/4/2025, Annual 2014

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're covering the Annual 2014 issue this week, so let's get started!

On the front cover, a handsome test color Carrick strolls onto a jump course with his rider. Have we seen this test model since then? A very similar one was sold in the 2018 Breyerfest silent auction.

In the (very pretty) Editor's Desk, Stephanie briefly recaps the year and then previews the next year as usual, and also previews the magazine.

On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor as usual.

On page 4 we have an article about Breyer's 65th anniversary.

And on page 5 we have the debut of Glitterati, on the mold that started it all! The Western Horse looks great in glossy bay appaloosa.

After skipping an ad for the Classics West Wind Stable, on page 7 we have an article about the 75th anniversary of AQHA!

On page 8 is the first part of the Breyerfest 2014 photo recap. I always thought the design for this Breyerfest (the closeup of the glitter) was really cool.

More Breyerfest on page 9.

Even more Breyerfest on page 10.

Still more Breyerfest on page 11!

Even more Breyerfest on page 12!

The Breyerfest recap finally wraps up on page 13.

After skipping an article about model horse photography, on page 18 we have The Artist's Sketch, featuring Sarah Mink and the making of Croi Damhsa, the third release in the 2014 Premier Club.

Artist's Sketch continues on page 19.

Artist's Sketch wraps up on page 20.

After skipping a how-to article, on page 23 we have a reveal of Hermosa and Corazon, the first releases in the 2015 Premier Club, and their Stablemate mini-mes!

After skipping an article about jockey silks and another how-to article, on page 28 we have an article about Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses. My apologies that some of the word are cut off, as the magazine was really thick and started threatening to fall apart when I tried to flatten it out more for the scan.

The therapy horse article concludes on page 29.

On page 30 we have the first page of an article about Maureen Love, sculptor of (among other things) the G1 Stablemates and numerous Classics models!

The Maureen Love article continues on page 31.

The Maureen Love article concludes on page 32.

On page 33 we have a reveal of the full 2015 Vintage Club lineup, from the good old days when they had to reveal the whole thing ahead of time to get the memberships to sell out. Too bad they can't still do this, eh?

On page 34 is the first page of an article about Black Caviar.

The Black Caviar article concludes on page 35. Black Caviar sadly died in 2024 at the age of 18.

On page 36 we have the first page of this week's Vintage Point, featuring Justin Morgan. I always thought this mold was handsome, but not handsome enough to collect him.

Vintage Point continues on page 37.

Vintage Point concludes on page 37.

After skipping an ad for the Cloud's Encore set, the 2013-2014 New Products Guide and an ad for the Zodiac series, on page 50 we have an update on the Live Show Benefit Program.

On page 51 we have photos of various winners of Live Show Benefit Program models. Hey, I recognize that Big Orange Bash sign!

On page 52 we have On the Trail with Breyer, featuring (among other things) a small update on the Big Easy Bash collector event.

On the back cover of the magazine, we have the reveal of Bayberry and Roses, the 2014 Holiday Horse! And with that, we've reached the end of this week's issue. Check back next week for the Annual 2015 issue!
