Featured JAH - 2/1/2025, May/June 2006

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! This week's issue is May/June 2006, so let's get going!

On the front cover we have the extremely handsome Tregoyd Journeyman.

In the Editor's Desk, new editor Arlene Newman introduces herself! Huzzah!

In the Letters to the Editor, we have a callback to this issue of JAH from 2003, which previewed what looks like the Ethereal Fire model but then...we didn't see anything else about it. We get an update on that mold later in this issue!

On page 4 is the first page of an article about the Canadian Horse.

The Canadian Horse article concludes on page 5.

On page 6 is an article about Karen Gerhardt, sculptor of the Cleveland Bay, Shannondell and probably other stuff!

The Karen Gerhardt article concludes on page 7. On a side note, I want that Percheron as a Breyer! Get on it, people!

On page 8 is the first page of an article about Tregoyd Journeyman.

The Tregoyd Journeyman article concludes on page 9, with a reveal of the new Cleveland Bay mold! Tregoyd Journeyman may still be alive, as I wasn't able to find a date of death for him, but his owners' website doesn't appear to have been updated since 2019, so it's hard to say. He would be turning 26 this year, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

On page 10 we find another Breyerfest preview! I wonder what ever happened to that Breyer mold oddities display?

On page 11 the Breyerfest preview continues, with the full special run lineup, and (as far as I remember) the first of Tommie Turvey's many Breyerfest appearances.

On page 12 is the long-awaited reveal of the Ethereal mold as Conquistador! Not sure why it took so long for him to be revealed after being teased in 2003, but better late than never, I guess. It would be another three years before the Ethereal series debuted, though.

After skipping Breyer jr., and Collector's Corner, on page 19 we have a Mini Whinnies playset and (more importantly) the reveal of a bunch of new Stablemates molds! Huzzah! It had been 8 long years since the G2 molds were revealed, so it was definitely long past time for more Stablemates molds.

After skipping a how-to article, a Country Gig article, a book review and Horse Trader, on page 26 we have the first page of Vintage Point, featuring a G2 Stablemates mold that wasn't even that old at this point! It's the G2 Appaloosa!

Vintage Point concludes on page 27.

After skipping On the Trail with Breyer and the Calendar of Events yet again, on the back cover we have the Stablemates Village Tack Shop! And that brings us to the end of this week's issue. Check back next week for July/Aug 2006!
