Black Friday Sale Pt. 2

 Well, the second part of Breyer’s Black Friday sale went live this morning - and what a sale it was! Lots of exciting stuff this time:

Julius was probably the hottest item of the sale - I actually remembered to check it this time and I saw everything appear on the page precisely at noon. I’m pretty sure Julius sold out first (within a few seconds) but it could have been something farther down the page…

Yep, there was at least one Peregrine, too! 

I’m a little mystified that things like Go Figure, Guinevere and Raleigh sold out so quickly, since they weren’t terribly popular on release and Go Figure can be had for under $100, but maybe people just wanted to get something? Like the previous sale, inventory was low on most of this stuff and there was a lot of cart-snatching happening. I didn’t need anything from this sale, fortunately, so it was interesting to watch everything sell out. Congratulations to everyone that managed to snag something! I suspect more may be added for the actual Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday, so stay tuned!

Earl selections and another Black Friday sale!

 Greetings, readers! Well, if you entered the Earl drawing, check your email - the selections went out today! I didn't enter for him, but congrats to all the winners! If you weren't drawn, fear not - it probably won't be hard to find one for around his issue price later on. 

In more exciting news, Breyer announced another Black "Friday" sale tomorrow! I put Friday in quotes because, well, tomorrow is Wednesday, not Friday. But anyway...

Supposedly there will be even more special stuff going on sale! I'm excited to see what they have. I set an alarm on my phone this time so I wouldn't forget about it at work. The sale is happening at the same time as last week: 12pm EST. Good luck, everyone! 

Goodbye, Earl (And Black Friday Early Access)

 Well, the early access Black Friday sale happened - with predictable results. There wasn't anything particularly exciting in the sale - mostly old web specials with a smattering of Collector Club, Stablemate Club, Christmas, Premier Club and Vintage Club stuff. This apparently included exactly two Zugspitze models. Needless to say, lots of people were upset when the predictable cart-yanking happened (even though Breyer warned about super-low quantities on some models). One wonders if more will be added later? Perhaps something for Cyber Monday? Guess we'll find out later. 

In more exciting news, this year's animal web special was revealed! Goodbye Hello Earl: 

He's very handsome, I have to admit. I've always kinda liked the Charolais Bull sculpt. Not enough to buy any (including this guy). Space is at a premium and I'm really more interested in the horses. But...maybe, someday, I'll find some room, somewhere, for a Charolais Bull. 

There are 1,000 of these guys, so it probably won't be hard to get your hands on one if you're not drawn. The entry deadline is 11/25, so don't dawdle! Get those entries in now. 

Breyer's Early Black Friday Sale!

 Oops, I forgot to post about this yesterday. Collector Club members, there's an early Black Friday sale today! 

From the email: 

We've plucked some incredible finds from the Breyer vault which include previous Club releases, Web Specials, and more - that's in addition to all the savings you can find in our collection of regular line deals.

I'll be interested to see what they have available - like the email says, usually it's old web specials and unsold club releases, but there could be some juicy stuff in there like Vintage Club stuff that's not normally available to the masses. The sale is happening at 12pm EST today (mildly irritated it's not at 1pm like they usually do), so I'll definitely be checking it out!  

Black Friday strikes again!

 As some people suspected would happen eventually, Breyer added some new stuff to their Black Friday sale today - check it out here! Some surprising stuff there, though most of it is sold out by now. 

I was busy prepping for Thanksgiving, so I missed out on this one. Baruti's the only thing I would have wanted, so that stings a little. I'm sure I'll find one eventually. A little surprising to see older stuff like Fiero and Moondance on there - they must have a huge warehouse for things to keep popping up years after the fact. There's a pretty good sale on Spectre down at the bottom if you haven't gotten him yet - $44.99 versus the original $64.99? Not a bad price if you haven't already picked one up. Now I'm going to be wondering if they'll add even more stuff on the actual Black Friday! Guess we'll have to watch and see. 

Vail, Early Access Black Friday sale, and Swirls n' Snowflakes update!

 Good news, everyone - the selections for Vail have been made! If you entered, check your email or the Collector Club home page to see if you were drawn. Happily, I managed to get drawn on one of my alternate accounts, so hopefully mine gets here fast! 

Also today was, unexpectedly, the early-access Black Friday sale for Collector Club members!



 Unfortunately, the most popular items are long sold out, including Zugspitze, Slyder, Astrid and more. But sometimes more stuff gets added later, so it might be worth checking things out. 

Lastly, there's been an update on the Swirls n' Snowflakes Stablemates situation - they're now scheduled to go up for sale on Monday at 1pm EST. Let's hope it works this time! 

New test run and Black Friday sale!

I guess it's that time again, people - time for another test run to pop up for sale on the website! Check him out: 

He's a fleabitten gray test run on the Traditional Black Stallion Mold. Well, uh...he's cool and all, but I don't think he's $950 cool. Seems a bit steep for a mold that isn't terribly popular...but with the sky-high prices for auction and test models lately, who knows anymore. Maybe the resellers won't bother to enter for this one so the people who actually want him can have a chance at him. We can always hope, right? 

In other news, the Black Friday sale has apparently already started, and Collector Club members have early access. Check out the sale items here - many of them sold out pretty quickly, including Nayati, Ashquar, Tamu and Chai and a few others. Other things have decidedly not sold out, including the candy cane zebras that are being sold at a price that's actually higher than their original sale price. If they were lower, maybe I'd order one and hope to get a black one, but at $150 a pop, that's not happening. You'd think more of their regular run stuff would be on sale, also (aside from Collecta models) but there isn't much of that, really. Oh well. 

In other other news, the new pin board is finally available for purchase, at $35 (ouch!), but it does come with a special Secretariat pin, so there's that. It qualifies for the collector club discount, and it's not hard to add on a few pins to get to the free shipping, so...I may have ordered a pin or five. My VIP pins needed some company, okay? And speaking of pins, when are Breyerfest VIP ticket holders going to get their special "We're sorry" pins we were supposed to get? Let's hope we get an update on that soon, along with a reveal of that blue sneak peek from the October CC newsletter! 

More Black Friday stuff and another test run!

 So, first off, more stuff has been added to Breyer's Black Friday sale! Most of the really juicy stuff sold out pretty much immediately, but you can still get Griffin, Reuben or a candy cane zebra. None of their prices are actual sale prices, for some reason, but I guess that's just the way it is. Make sure you're logged into your Collector Club account when you try to view these. I missed out on the good stuff, but I only would have gotten a Fylkir anyway, in hopes of getting the silver black. Not sure how they still have more Fylkirs kicking around the warehouse after the amount of times he's shown up in blind bags, but whatevs.

Nothing I need for my own collection, but it might be worth entering for resale purposes. They jacked the price up to $1,000, though, so it depends on if someone thinks he's worth that much or more. With the prices the auction models have been bringing lately, who can say? Anyway, good luck if you're entering for him! 

Barrington, Avoriaz and the Black Friday sale!

Wow, lots more new reveals today! First, check out Barrington, the optional model in next year's Vintage Club:

I figured it would be a Bristol, but I thought they'd use a more interesting color on him, honestly. It looks like I'm not the only one who's underwhelmed by him, judging by the reaction I've seen online. Maybe they'll gloss 30 of them? I should probably hope they don't do that, for completion's sake.

Next, the Winter Web Special has finally been revealed! Say hello to Avoriaz!

But it seems like Breyer just can't get enough of randomly shipped special runs, so say hello to Avoriaz again!



Insert obligatory grumbling about blind bags here...Anyway, she's definitely beautiful! I don't know which color I like more - I'd be happy to be drawn for either (or both) of them, spendy as they are. But at the rate they've been pumping out the releases lately, I really hope the Christmas special run is something I don't want, because I don't know how I'm going to pay for it if it's along the same vein as last year's Christmas unicorns.

Lastly, Collector Club members now have early access to Breyer's Black Friday sale! There is (or was) an array of fun goodies, including Darwin and last year's VC Stablemate, Rosemary. I was surprised to see last year's web special Goffert, Gettysburg, in the list as well - but not at all surprised to see Hawthorn, last year's woodgrain pig. Didn't I say they'd be trying to get rid of those for years to come?

Anyway, that's all I've got for today. If you're entering for Aviana Avoriaz, the entry period is only three days long, so don't dilly-dally. I can't wait to see if I'm drawn! 

The 2019 Black Friday sale is a go!

Attention, collectors: the Black Friday sale has popped back up, and there are some nice goodies in it that weren't there before!



Unfortunately, the mini True North and St. Moritz are already sold out, but there are a few other things there that might be worth picking up. And sheesh, Bandera must have REALLY flopped last year...he's now marked down to $27 from $52. Maybe that wouldn't have been the case if they'd bothered to paint his eyes...

But anyway. I noticed Griffin had disappeared from my collector club homepage and wondered where he went, and there he is! Still not buying one, though. And I'm also not surprised they still have Forever Saiges floating around the warehouse (good luck selling them for $10 more than the original price when they're selling for Vintage Club prices on eBay). I am surprised to see Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh on there; I thought they'd sold out the year they came out.

I'm glad to see this year's sale didn't turn out quite as lackluster as it first appeared, though. Congrats to everyone who got a St. Moritz or Mini True North!

Early Black Friday sale for Collector Club members!

Today's early morning surprise from Breyer: the annual Black Friday sale!

Currently the sale is only available to Collector Club members, but will open to the general public at some point. Amongst the goodies available: Riptide, the Vintage Club Stablemate; Hermoso and Corazon, the Premier Club Stablemates; Cypress, this year's Vintage Club extra; Tallulah, Moondance and Abdul, CC special runs from the past few years; and the Premier Club Ashquar, among other models. A lot of them are already sold out, so if there's something you're on the fence about buying, don't wait too long!

I didn't buy anything this year, as there wasn't anything I needed, but these sales are fun to see all the same, just to see what they come up with every year.

Also, I've been hearing that the free shipping code on the back page of this year's Breyer catalog (arriving in mailboxes now!) may or may not be compatible with this sale, so don't forget to try it!

I got an email this morning that Breyer is having a Black Friday sale, with early access for Collector Club members starting today!



 Included in the sale are things like this year's VC Charlie on the Bobby Jo mold, last year's VC Stablemate Bravo, and various other RR items! Sadly, it looks like Bravo has already sold out, but hurry up and grab a Charlie!
