Cosimo is now available!

Good news, Premier Club members! This year’s first release, Cosimo, is finally available for purchase!

I have two memberships this year (curse you, Breyer), so I’m getting both finishes, but I’m almost more excited for the matte one. Look at the depth on his paint job! I hope mine looks just like that. Now if I could just get some stuff sold to help pay for him…

Featured JAH - 6/14/2025, July/Aug 2009

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! Let's keep moving right along and jump into July/Aug 2009!

On the front cover we have a very nicely-done diorama of Roxy and Stacy Westfall. I still really like the Roxy sculpt from this angle. It's making me a bit sad that I sold off my Roxy models - I'd better move on.

On page 2 we have Editor's Desk and a mystery horse contest.

On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor and a real "blast from the past," indeed - a Who Am I? It's been a while since we've seen this former JAH staple.

On page 4 is Part 1 of the Secretariat article!

The Secretariat article concludes on page 5 along with a reveal of the Secretariat model.

After skipping an ad for Saddle Club stars at Breyerfest and an article about the author of the Horse Collection book series, on page 8 we have a short article about singer Templeton Thompson and her horse Jane.

On page 9 we have a blurb about Hannah Montana's horse Blue Jeans appearing at Breyerfest, along with some silent auction stuff for Breyerfest 2009.

We have some Breyerfest 2009 auction models on page 10! I wonder where these models are now?

After skipping Winners' Circle, on page 12 we have the adorable Gilen! He's the porcelain foal of the previous Connoisseur porcelain Giselle.

After skipping Artist's Sketch, Mailbag, Model Horse Show, a holiday model display, the announcement of the holiday art contest, an advertisement for Breyer Stablemates books and two how-to articles, on page 24 we have the first page of this week's Vintage Point, featuring Secretariat!

Vintage Club wraps up on page 25.

After skipping the July/Aug Calendar of Events and a Breyer Canada update, on page 28 we have On the Trail with Breyer!

After skipping the fall 2009 Collector's Choice winner, on the back page of the magazine we have an ad for the Horse Cruiser, and that brings us to the end of this week's issue! Check back next week for Sept/Oct 2009!

Ooh, pretty!

Well, the teaser from yesterday has been revealed! Behold, the Breyerfest Live Grand Prize, Sante!

What a beauty! I've always loved the bays with lots of white. Too bad I'm trying to sell off my Carricks! Oh well - at least it wasn't a mold I'm still trying to collect, so I won't feel too bad if/when I don't win one this year.

Whoa, lots of stuff today!

Lots of exciting new things to announce today, people! Firstly, if you're a Vintage Club member, the next release has been announced! It's the Classic Mustang Family in three exciting colors!

The three colors are old-style gray Appaloosa, old-style red roan and charcoal. I like the charcoal set the best, though I'm not planning on buying this set. They'd better be careful - that Appaloosa mare and foal both have a little bit of Sharpieloosa going on with their spots. Maybe the actual production versions will look better. Naturally, these sets will be randomly shipped, so you won't know which one you get until you open them up. Isn't blind-bag everything fun?

Secondly, the third release of the 2025 Stablemates Club is now available! Say hello to Spencer!

The color is nice, but once again this isn't anything I need to buy, so if you'd like to purchase him from me, let me know.

Lastly for today, there's another sneak peek on the blog! Behold:

I've seen speculation of it being Fireheart, Hamilton, Llywellyn and a few other molds, but nothing definitive - and I don't have a good guess myself either. It's probably the live show grand prize model, and since they used the Clydesdale Stallion for the reserve grand, I'd guess it's another less-popular mold, but who knows for sure. We'll find out tomorrow! I hope we get to see more auction models tomorrow too!

Lastly, Breyer answered someone's question on Facebook about this year's first Premier Club release with "next week," so if you're in the Premier Club, you'd better start getting your wallet ready! I know I'm eager for those Cosimo models to be released already!

The first batch of auction models!

Exciting news today, readers - the first batch of auction model photos has been posted on the blog! Behold:

Be still, my heart. I’m sure this one will be out of my price range, but it’s nice to dream. I’m not planning on bidding on any auction models this year, anyway.

Ooh, a handsome black splash (I think?) Wyatt! Nothing I need, though.

Interesting color on this one, but still nothing I need. It kind of reminds me of the roan pinto Stagecoach Surprise, actually.

I’m pretty meh on this one, honestly, but I’ve never been a fan of True North. Needs more white, I think. Or a coat of gloss. This group is sadly lacking in the gloss department.

That’s it for this week - dare I hope we get more auction models this week? I wish they still did the one-model-per-day countdown, though - I feel like it helped build excitement way better.

Mid-year releases are announced!

Good news, readers! The mid-year releases for 2025 were announced today. Huzzah! We finally get to see the SCO and Moody ASB that we've been wondering about all year:

That Saddlebred is beautiful. I love him! His pattern is a nice approximation of an Appaloosa.

Nice color on the SCO as well!

I'm kind of surprised how many mid-year releases there actually are this year. Seems like usually there's only two or three? This year we're getting three Traditionals, three Classics, a Stablemate set and a Mane Beauty set. Here's the other Traditional:

Ooh, this polo Smarty is making me regret selling off my other Smartys.

Here's one of the Classics - it was hinted at in last month's Collector Club newsletter:

So he isn't Halloween-themed! He's mint chocolate chip ice cream! An underrated flavor, in my opinion. I'll have to get my hands on one at some point!

Lastly for today, here's the new Stablemate set!

They're inspired by sea glass! What a neat idea. I hope the KHP gets these in soon so I can snag them!

Featured JAH - 6/7/2025, May/June 2009

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! This week we're covering May/June 2009, so let's get started!

On the front cover, the Cochise model struts his stuff with rider.

In the Editor's Desk, Arlene briefly previews the magazine, and there's an ad for a Saddle Club compilation CD.

On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor.

On page 4 is the first part of the Bonanza article, featuring Little Joe's Cochise.

The Bonanza article wraps up on page 5.

On page 6 we have an ad for the 2009 Breyermidwest, featuring the beautiful Del Mar model.

After skipping an ad for The Breyer Horse Collection books, on page 8 we have the first page of the Breyerfest preview! Feast your eyes on the best Breyerfest 2009 had to offer, including several special runs suggested by Blab members.

This Breyerfest was also the debut of the surprise model, though this would be the only time (so far) that the mold and colors were revealed in advance. Well, most of the colors. We also have the raffle models - the amazing Red Velvet and Tiramisu, with a factory custom tail not seen since.

On page 10 is an article about Stacy Westfall and Roxy, along with Cotton Candy, the first (and so far only) time the Small Poodle mold has been used in a larger capacity.

On page 11 we have an article about Lizzy Traband and Toby, which wraps up the Breyerfest preview.

Page 12 is the first page of the article about Idocus.

The actual article appears on page 13, along with the model.

After skipping Mailbag, Model Horse Show, and Winners' Circle, on page 20 we have the handsome Valiant!

After skipping Artist's Sketch and a how-to article, on page 24 we have the first page of this week's Vintage Point article featuring Susecion and Le Fire!

Susecion and Le Fire are very popular molds, but they really haven't been used that often since this article was published. Only a total of two regular run releases, and most of the rest were very limited and hard to get ahold of. Maybe someday they'll get another regular run or Breyerfest release, although it was nice to see them as the unicorn mare and foal and 2023's flagship set.

On page 26 we have an update on Breyer UK and Breyer Canada.

After skipping the Calendar of Events, on the back cover of the magazine we have the magnificent Fire! He was the last of the Ethereal series of horses. And with that we've reached the end of this week's issue! Check back next week for July/Aug 2009!

Cin Cin!

Good news, readers! The sneak peek from Tuesday has been revealed:

It's the Breyerfest Live Reserve Grand Prize model! He's pretty, but nothing I need. From the blog:

Cin Cin (pronounced like cheen cheen) is how Italians say cheers!  A hearty toast to the twelve lucky Reserve Champions, between the Thursday and Friday days of this year’s BreyerFest Open Model Horse Show, who will get to take home this very handsome prize model!

Okay Breyer, let's see some more reveals!

Also, I'm planning on attending Big Orange Bash in Knoxville, TN this weekend, so if you see Geralt and Roach, feel free to stop at my table and say hi!

Breyerfest sneak peek, a reveal and Pride Month sweepstakes!

Greetings, readers! I didn't have time to post about this yesterday, but there's a new sneak peek on the Breyerfest blog:

It's some type of Clydesdale Stallion - probably a live show prize. I'm excited for the reveal!

Breyer also revealed this variant of Future is Bright in an email yesterday:

Looks like we're getting a roached version of Future is Bright along with the loose mane! They don't usually reveal these things in advance (though there have been some exceptions to that), so I'm happy to see this even if I don't plan on buying one. The email in question was to inform collectors that the deadline for buying tickets with a preference form was today at 11:59AM. I may have snagged a couple more tickets before the deadline...but anyways. Breyer seems to like sneaking things into the background for us to notice (like those suspicious VIP pins), so I'm going to be scouring everything they post for the next few weeks in case they sneak anything else in there.

Lastly, Breyer is holding a Pride Month sweepstakes! You probably got an email about it, but here's the link just in case. 3 lucky winners will receive a prize package consisting of Equidae and Kaleidoscope, the limited edition Stablemate from Breyerfest 2021. Good luck to everyone entering!
