Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! This week we're covering May/June 2009, so let's get started!
On the front cover, the Cochise model struts his stuff with rider.
In the Editor's Desk, Arlene briefly previews the magazine, and there's an ad for a Saddle Club compilation CD.
On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor.
On page 4 is the first part of the Bonanza article, featuring Little Joe's Cochise.
The Bonanza article wraps up on page 5.
On page 6 we have an ad for the 2009 Breyermidwest, featuring the beautiful Del Mar model.
After skipping an ad for The Breyer Horse Collection books, on page 8 we have the first page of the Breyerfest preview! Feast your eyes on the best Breyerfest 2009 had to offer, including several special runs suggested by Blab members.
This Breyerfest was also the debut of the surprise model, though this would be the only time (so far) that the mold and colors were revealed in advance. Well, most of the colors. We also have the raffle models - the amazing Red Velvet and Tiramisu, with a factory custom tail not seen since.
On page 10 is an article about Stacy Westfall and Roxy, along with Cotton Candy, the first (and so far only) time the Small Poodle mold has been used in a larger capacity.
On page 11 we have an article about Lizzy Traband and Toby, which wraps up the Breyerfest preview.
Page 12 is the first page of the article about Idocus.
The actual article appears on page 13, along with the model.
After skipping Mailbag, Model Horse Show, and Winners' Circle, on page 20 we have the handsome Valiant!
After skipping Artist's Sketch and a how-to article, on page 24 we have the first page of this week's Vintage Point article featuring Susecion and Le Fire!
Susecion and Le Fire are very popular molds, but they really haven't been used that often since this article was published. Only a total of two regular run releases, and most of the rest were very limited and hard to get ahold of. Maybe someday they'll get another regular run or Breyerfest release, although it was nice to see them as the unicorn mare and foal and 2023's flagship set.
On page 26 we have an update on Breyer UK and Breyer Canada.
After skipping the Calendar of Events, on the back cover of the magazine we have the magnificent Fire! He was the last of the Ethereal series of horses. And with that we've reached the end of this week's issue! Check back next week for July/Aug 2009!
