Featured JAH - 6/28/2025, Nov/Dec 2009

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! This week we're covering Nov/Dec 2009 - wow, we're finishing up another year! Life comes at you fast, I guess. Anyway, let's get started!

On the front cover we have the beautiful Nutcracker Prince, the 2009 Holiday Horse! One of my favorite Hucks - I guess I'm a sucker for a gray white horse.

In the Editor's Desk, Arlene previews the magazine as usual. There's also a contest to find the mini Justadreams, so if you notice a little Justadream hidden on some of these pages, that's why.

On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor as usual.

On page 4 we have the first part of the S Justadream article and the reveal of her Breyer model! Huzzah!

The Justadream article wraps up on page 5. I wasn't able to find any information on whether Justadream is still living, although she'd be 27, so it's possible she's still around.

On page 6 we have a blurb about Buck, Ben Cartwright's horse from Bonanza! Still a TV staple of grandpas everywhere.

After skipping the Holiday Gift Guide, on page 8 we have some winners from NAN 2009!

More NAN winners appear on page 9!

After skipping the holiday art contest winners, on page 12 we have the lovely Oasis! This was the first time collectors saw the flip-tail version of the mold. It would only be used once more, in 2010, before taking a long hiatus (other than auction/test models) and resurfacing in 2020.

After skipping The Artist's Sketch, Mailbag and Model Horse Show, we have a Breyer Canada update on page 16!

After skipping the rest of Model Horse Show, Winners' Circle and a couple of how-to articles, on page 24 we have the first page of this week's Vintage Point article featuring Sherman Morgan!

The Sherman Morgan article wraps up on page 25.

After skipping an ad for another Breyer book and the Calendar of Events, on page 28 we have On the Trail with Breyer!

On the back cover we find more holiday stuff, and that brings us to the end of this week's issue! Check back next week for Jan/Feb 2010!
