April Fool Stablemate is here!

Greetings, readers! Well, my April Fool gamble arrived today. Did I hit the jackpot?

Unfortunately, no. I wanted the Georg, so it looks like I'll be looking for a trade. Better luck next time, I guess.

April Fool's giveaway and more blind bags!

Greetings, readers! Well, yesterday's April Fool's joke has been revealed as a joke (not surprising), but in an unexpected twist, Breyer is giving away three test models based on yesterday's joke model!

They did clarify on Facebook that the joke model is in fact real (vindication!), so I hope it shows up in the Breyerfest silent auction, because I want to see that thing in person. Anyway, the entry period ends tomorrow night, so get your entries in if you want one! I don't collect Nikolas, but entered anyway for trade fodder. Good luck to everyone entering!

In other news, we were a bit confused this morning when the Pal test models were revealed, because there was a mystery Stablemate in the background.

People wondered what it was, and speculated all kinds of things, but we didn't have to wait too long - it turned out to be part of another set of April Fool's blind bags!

I'm a bit confused that they produced these, considering the ones from last year seem to have gone over like a lead balloon (they're still available on the website). And of course they used the hugely popular mini Georg, so he's the only one anyone is going to want afterwards. At least they used the G1 Arabian Mare this time instead of the G2 Clydesdale or Magnolia? I'm also glad the Georg didn't end up being part of a 75th Anniversary blind bag set. I only ordered one of these - crossing my fingers for the Georg.

Last-Minute Reveals

Well, if you haven't joined the Premier Club yet, there's still a couple of hours left to join. Breyer graced us with some new photos of next year's offerings, including a group photo:

They certainly make a nice-looking group, don't they? Too bad we don't get a sneak peek of the Stablemate, but it doesn't look like they're going to reveal that. Anyway, here's a dapple shot of the glossy Cosimo:

He looks really nice! And here's a shot of the hairy/stallion version of Rowan's other side:

His soft color kinda reminds me of Rhian and Cadell. He'd make a good stallion for them!

Somewhere there's a photo of Cosimo's off side, but I can't find it now. I don't like him as much from that angle, though, so I'm not too upset.

In other news, we got another silhouette on the Breyerfest Blog

Well, looks like we're staying at 3/4, because I don't collect the Indian Pony. I still think these silhouettes are most likely the single-day Stablemates. They did say they'll be revealed tomorrow, though, so I'm excited for that! And for the New Year, naturally. Happy New Year, everyone! And don't forget to join the various clubs, if you're so inclined.

Breyerfest Closeups: Woodstock and Mini Woodstock

Hello and welcome to this year's last Breyerfest Closeups post! Today we're taking a look at Woodstock, an upcoming release for the 2022 Vintage Club.

So we have a woodgrain Indian Pony and her tiny doppelganger, a woodgrain Stablemate Indian Pony! They even put the feathers on the tiny IP's mane, though one wonders why they didn't go all the way and put feathers on the tail as well. Technical problems, I suppose.

So presumably this is the next release in the club? I don't remember if there was any indication of when these are going to be released, but I feel like it may be time for the next one? I guess Gawain was only released last month, though, so we may be waiting a while longer for this one. I guess we'll find out eventually!

Blind bag chase models are revealed!

Well, here's a couple of new tidbits amid this inexplicable dearth of news: The chase pieces for the 70th Anniversary blind bags have been revealed! While nothing has been confirmed so far, it appears that the regular chase model is a chrome/platinum Mini Brishen, and the super-chase is a blue/yellow filigree on the mini Indian Pony. So at least I don't need the super-chase - whew! Prices are already ridiculous on the platinum Mini Brishen, but hopefully that calms down in the coming months so I can add one to my collection! I don't have photos of either of them yet, but they'll be posted as soon as I can find some!
