Unexpected Bonus!

Well, color me surprised - I didn’t think we’d get another Breyerfest reveal this week. But I was wrong! Say hello to this year’s Best of Breyerfest set!

They’re mini versions of various models from Breyerfest 2015! Huzzah! I only want the Fjord and the Saddlebred, but I suspect it won’t be hard to get rid of the other three. The mini (and full-size) Parfait models don’t quite look like they match the original one, but maybe it’s just the lighting. (And I briefly owned a Parfait, so I’m pretty sure I’m remembering his color being slightly lighter.) Still can’t get over the short front leg on that mini SCO, either.

It looks like we’re getting another reveal on Monday, despite the holiday! Can’t wait to see what it is!

Sneak peek revealed!

Well, looks like the Internet was right - yesterday's sneak peek was one of the models in this year's Best of Breyerfest set! Behold:

They're mini versions of raffle models - cute! They all look nicely-executed, though the mini Bonheur/Flowers looks a little plain next to the other four. Fortunately, I don't need any of these, so I won't need to bother with this set this year. Good for my pocketbook!

There isn't much more Breyerfest stuff left to reveal, but we'll get to see something on Monday, according to the blog. Huzzah!

Another must-have!

Good news, everyone! We have another Breyerfest Limited Edition reveal - the Best of Breyerfest Stablemate set! Behold:

Ooh, nice! They're based on models from Breyerfest 2013 this time. Here's closeups, starting with Singletree:

He's based on the Honky Tonk early bird model on the Nokota, all three of whom seem to have disappeared into the ether. Next, here's Liverpool:

She's a mini version of Music Row, the Open Show Reserve Grand Prize. For some reason I got really confused by this model and thought she had a different tail than the usual Magnolia, but I must be imagining it. In other thoughts...the first thing I thought when I saw this one was GIVE THIS MOLD A REST ALREADY, SHEESH. There have to be some other molds out there that have existed for twice as long as this one has but were given half as many releases.

Okay, anyway. Next we have Whippletree!

He's a mini version of the 2013 Breyerfest volunteer model Opry. I wonder if some of them will be matte in a sly reference to the fact that the three manager Oprys weren't glossed? Heh.

Next, here's Landau:

This one is based on Minnie Pearl, the Open Show Grand Prize model. Looks like her color matches pretty well!

Lastly, here's Hames:

He's obviously a small version of Walk of Fame, the 2013 diorama prize model! Very handsome, though I feel something is missing without his ribbons.

All in all, a pretty nice set! I only need two of them, though (Singletree and Whippletree, natch), but it shouldn't be too hard to separate them out and sell the others later. There's yet another reveal coming tomorrow, so I'll be watching the blog again tomorrow to see what it is!

FINALLY!

The big reveal is finally upon us, readers- this year's Best of Breyerfest Stablemates set! Here it is in all its glory:

From the blog:

Schumacher (mold 5625) has been inspired by Senna, 2016's Open Show Grand Champion Prize Model, in a flashy red dun blanket. Named after Michael Schumacher, one of the most successful Formula One Drivers in the world.

Linzer (mold 5746) has been inspired by Brigadeiros, 2016’s Open Show Reserve Champion Prize Model, in an eye-catching bay tobiano. Linzers are a popular cookie found throughout Germany, filled with different jams and preserves.

Müller (mold 5745) has been inspired by Pele, 2016’s BreyerFestCarnavalesco Challenge Diorama Contest Prize, in a stunning glossy dappled bay.  Named after Thomas Müller, a German Soccer Player, who plays for both Germany’s National Team and state team Bayern Munich.

Radler (mold 5735) has been inspired by Caipirinha, 2016’s volunteer model, in a beautiful dappled rose grey. A Radler is a Bavarian drink which is a mixture of light beer and sparkling lemonade.

Maifeld (mold 5629) has been inspired by Polomar, 2016’s Early Bird Raffle, in a light bay leopard appaloosa. Named after the Maifeld Cup, which has become one of the most popular and prestigious polo events in Europe.

So that's another set I'll have to get my hands on! I only want the Radler (though his color doesn't quite match his Trad counterpart) and Maifeld, though - they seem to have a knack for mostly picking molds I don't collect for these things. That Croi is really pretty though, and this is (I think) only the second time we're seeing the mini Prince Charming in a realistic color. That said, my only nitpick for this is the color for Maifeld - similar colors on the G3 Cantering Warmblood have been done several times before, and since he's not glossy he just looks kind of blah. Why would you pick something that looks like a $4 RR when they could have easily done a mini Cinza instead? Mind-boggling. I hope he at least has detailed eyes.

Sounds like tickets (or at least, more information about them) might be revealed on Monday! I think we only have the crystal model left to be revealed (aside from prize and raffle models), so I'm excited to see what that is as well. Happy weeekend, everyone!

Ooh, pretty!

Our next two reveals have appeared on the blog - let's start with this year's Best of Breyerfest Stablemate set!

From left to right, we have the G2 Paso Fino as Perrault, Darwin as Nottingham, the G3 Highland Pony as Tom Thumb, the G3 Stock Horse as Camelot, and the Warmblood Mare as Happily Ever After. Interesting that all of the inspirations this year were from 2011 - I don't think that was the case last year. Oh well - this is a great set! I've always wanted a Nottingham, so it'll be fun to have a miniature one on Darwin. The only other mold here in my collection is the Warmblood Mare, and that dapple gray looks really nice on her. Hopefully I'll be able to snag a set!

Today's other exciting reveal is a model that didn't appear in the Great Photo Leak of last week! Say hello to Rheverence+!

Ooh, another Ashquar - yes please! Wow, he looks good in buckskin, and that's certainly a unique pattern. This will be the third time Ashquar appears as a portrait model, after Empres and Thunder. The more the merrier, I say! I hope I can snag this one as well!
