Greetings, readers! Well, we didn't have to wait very long for that sneak peek to be revealed - behold! It's a piebald moose!
His name is Roddick! He's pretty, but nothing I need. Good luck to everyone entering for him! There are 1,000 of him, so your odds of being drawn probably aren't too bad.
Also, if you've been following Breyerfest news, the tickets were announced today, and there are some major changes coming. For one thing, VIP ticket buyers will now get one of all nine special run options with their ticket, and the VIP swag bag is apparently going away. But we'll still get the Stablemate set and the VIP pins - let's hope the pins aren't the tiny, inexplicably-colored pins we got this year. VIP ticket holders will also get early access to the online exclusives, which is...cool, I guess? The swag bag going away is a little sad, but the stuff in it usually wasn't all that great, so I guess I'm not that sad.
I don't know how I feel about the 9 special runs per VIP ticket - on the one hand it's cool because I usually want 4-5 of the special runs...but on the other hand, I basically never want all 9 of them - I don't collect animals or vintage molds, so that's two of them right there that I don't want. I guess I'll at least get to see what the molds are before I have to decide which tickets to buy, so there's that. But that's a serious chunk of change we'll be throwing down for these tickets - I'll be surprised if they're any less than $900. Which is a lot to be spending months before the event!
Anyways, it looks like All-Access ticket holders will now get a randomly-selected event Stablemate, so that's fun. They'll also get early access to online exclusives.
And there's also a new ticket option! The Fan Ticket, which gets you into the park, a Celebration Model, access to purchase Limited Editions and of course the virtual content and shopping. This is a good option for people with kids that want to get in and see the park activities and still get a model. Fun stuff!
It remains to be seen what the prices will be for all these tickets, but hopefully they won't be too insane.
