Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're moving right along and taking a look at the Annual 2019 issue today, so let's get started!
On the front cover we have a very detailed diorama featuring Greyson and the new Corbin mold, although the Corbin on this cover was a matte test model which was later given away in the 2020 Stablemates Club raffle. I wish that raffle would come back! They gave away some cool stuff.
In the Editor's Desk, Stephanie recaps Breyerfest 2019 and talks about upcoming 70th Anniversary activities. There's also a black-and-white sneak peek of the upcoming Fairfax mold! There was also a contest to spot all the tiny test models for a chance to win a test model, so if you see little circled pictures of a chestnut pinto Idocus, that's why.
On page 3 is an article about Breyer portrait model Truly Unsurpassed.
On page 4 is the first page of an article about the Cloud's Legend set of portrait models.
The Cloud's Legend article concludes on page 5.
After skipping some photo show results on page 6, we have Artist's Sketch on page 7 featuring Sommer Prosser, the artist behind the paint jobs on many of Breyer's releases. I included this one because it featured an in-progress photo of the George paint job.
After skipping an ad for the 2019 Premier Club, on page 9 we have the reveal of the model for the 2020 Live Show Benefit Program (defunct since 2020 due to the pandemic), as well as an ad for the ill-fated Fairytale Friends Club, which debuted in 2019 but has not returned since, despite the ad's claim that membership would reopen soon. I had forgotten that the club didn't come out until mid-2019 and thus didn't conclude until mid-2020. I think the expensive-yet-simplistic paint jobs on the Stablemates were what did the club in - if the paint jobs had better reflected the price point, the club probably would have lasted longer. Though I'll admit Moonbeam looks better in that sneak peek than how she ultimately turned out.
On page 10 is the first page of the Breyerfest 2019 recap.
More Breyerfest photos on page 11.

Even more Breyerfest photos on page 12!
The Breyerfest photo journal concludes on page 13.
After skipping the Breyerfest 2019 Best Customs Contest winners, on page 16 we have a cute set of Breyerfest moments in miniature.
After skipping an ad for Breyerfest 2020, on page 18 we have an article about "Unicorns Around the World." I included this article because it was refreshing to see some at least somewhat-more-naturally-colored unicorns.
More Unicorns Around the World on page 19. Okay, I guess most of them are still fantasy-colored, but I'd still like to see some unicorns with realistic horse colors.
After skipping an ad for the 2020 Stablemates Club (this ad and others gave the impression that Klaus would be a glossy/matte split, but that didn't end up happening), on page 21 we have an article about Breyer portrait model Catch Me. The real Catch Me died this past June of colic, sadly.
After skipping an article on painting roans, on page 25 we have an article about Breyer portrait model Thunder.
After skipping articles about sculpting, on page 29 is a Grooming Kit article.
On page 30 is the first page of a 70th Anniversary retrospective.
The retrospective concludes on page 31 with a reveal of one of the 70th Anniversary models.
On page 32 is the first page of Vintage Point, featuring Alborozo. There's a pretty short list of Traditional Alborozo models, but boy howdy, there have been a LOT of mini Alborozos!
I mean, look at how many releases the mini Alborozo had by 2019, considering it wasn't a thing until 2018. And there have been a million more since then!
Vintage Point concludes on page 34.
On page 36 is the first page of the article about Protocol, another Breyer portrait model.
The Protocol article wraps up on page 37.
After skipping the rest of Hobbyist Hangout and the 2019 New Product Guide, as well as an ad for the 2020 Collector Club, on the back cover of the magazine is the very pretty Minstrel Holiday Horse! And with that we've reached the end of this week's issue. Check back next week for Annual 2020!
