Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're wrapping up 2006 this week with Nov/Dec 2006, so let's get going!
On the front cover, we have a couple of cute customized Stablemates in a "wintry scene by Jennifer Danza."
In the Editor's Desk, Arlene previews the magazine (as usual).
On page 3 we have Letter to the Editor.
After skipping a how-to article, on page 6 we have a promo for a Breyer Stablemates book, and also the Paint Your Dream Horse photo contest winners, featuring a lot of recognizable names!
On page 7 is the debut of the 2007 Treasure Hunt! Feast your eyes on these pretty Silvers. Silver was still very popular in 2006 and was in the middle of his being-used-everywhere thing, so it's no surprise that he was used for the Treasure Hunt. I still feel like he'll probably be used as the Breyerfest surprise eventually, despite having been used in the Treasure Hunt...could this be his year? Hmm. Also, shoutout to my poor Silver Pegasus who has an unfortunate seam split on his belly.
On page 8 we have the first page of an article about Akhal-Tekes, and the debut of the Breyer Akhal-Teke on Lonesome Glory!
The Teke article wraps up on page 9.
After skipping the holiday art contest results (sorry), on page 12 is the popular Connoisseur Jazz Fusion! I feel like something went wrong with the design for this page, because the photo doesn't look quite right. Maybe it's just me.
After skipping Breyer jr., on page 17 we have an article about Breyer's participation in the Ponies UK Summer Show.
We've skipped Collector's Corner again, and on page 19 we find an article about the Castle Toys Breyer Model West show in Canada.
After skipping two more how-to articles, Horse Trader and the 2007 Retired List, on page 26 is the first page of this week's Vintage Point article, featuring the G1 Arabian Mare!
Vintage Point concludes on page 27.
On page 28 we have On the Trail with Breyer, featuring more highlights from model horse shows and a listing of Breyer Fun Days from 2006.
After skipping the Calendar of Events, on the back cover we have the beautiful Snow Princess, the 2006 Holiday Horse! I never did own a Snow Princess before I sold off my Rejoices, but I did always like the blue interference on her gray color. Celestine is very similar, and I do have her!
