Nimbus is here! Also this year's JAH!

 Good news, everyone! My Nimbus came today - behold! 

What a pretty guy! His shade of blue looks a bit like cotton candy, although the gold mane and tail (and glitter) take away from that a bit.

I like how the blue of the mane and tail fade into gold. It might just be overspray but it looks intentional to me. Very pretty! Personally, I'd have skipped the mane and tail glitter, but that might just be me. 

Quality-wise he's pretty good - I didn't see any flaws. His eyes are even painted neatly! That doesn't always happen these days. 

Lastly, my JAH is already here! Seems like it used to take a lot longer for things to get here - I could get used to this. 

There are nice articles about Cody's Wish, Kylee Parks and more, but not really anything we hadn't already seen - I was hoping for at least one new reveal, but no luck. However, I did spot something interesting - the distribution of Tuxedo variations is not what I'd assumed it to be. In a run of 1,000, I thought it would be a (somewhat) even split of 333 each (with one remaining, which could explain the solid black Tuxedo with a star that popped up on Blab recently), but it turns out the solid black is a run of 100 and the other two are each runs of 450. Interesting...let's hope it's not a trend.

Vintage Club preview and Nimbus!

 Sheesh, I guess I wrote today's earlier post too early - the news wasn't done yet! Firstly, we have an amazing sneak peek for next year's Vintage Club, Kirk:

Whoa, a night light! That's super cool. Looks like some kind of glossy splatter dapple gray on Geronimo? Can't say I had "night light" on my bingo card, though I'm starting to think I should have. Despite having been burned in the past, my inability to secure any Thunderbirds (so far) is making me regret not joining the club this year. Must resist! Most of the releases don't resell for issue price, and I don't collect most vintage-themed stuff! Must resist! 

Anyway, our second bit of late-breaking new is that Nimbus is available to order! 

Naturally I had to order him as soon as possible. I guess I could have waited to order Wintergreen along with Nimbus - she's still available on backorder. Oh well, not like I haven't wasted money on shipping before. 

That's (hopefully) it for today, unless Breyer comes out with something else unexpected in the next few hours! 

Holiday Ponies coming soon!

 Good news, everyone! Breyer has added this year's holiday collection to the Coming Soon area of the website! Check them all out here. But here they are! 

Firstly, here's Nimbus, who we saw at Breyerfest:

Next, the resolution of that sneak peek in last month's Collector Club newsletter! 

There was some speculation that the sneak peek was the Clydesdale Mare, so it's good to see her show up along with the Clydesdale Foal! And some astute viewers on Facebook have pointed out that the mare has the same pattern as Pepper (minus a few spots) - Breyer does like to reuse patterns sometimes, so it's cool to see this one in a different color! 

Next is the Pony Snow Day playset, with the Norwegian Fjord mold in a really nice gray dun color. He's pretty! And the little snowman is cute too. 

Next we have Mittens, the adorable...mushroom tobiano pony? Well, that's what the website says. No pictures of him without the blanket for some reason, so I can't really judge whether he looks mushroomy or not. Edit: Mushroom is a recognized color in miniature horses, apparently. Good to know! And good to see a new release on the Shetland Pony. 

Lastly we have Wintergreen! This one would make a nice companion to last year's Neva and Black Forest. She's cute! Gonna have to add her to the collection along with Nimbus. I like how her tail fades to clear instead of white. I'm excited about these new models - hopefully they're available to order soon! 

Breyerfest Closeups: Nimbus

 Hello, readers! Good news - I finally had time to pull Breyerfest photos off my camera. I'm still in the process of editing them all, but I came across the Collector Club tent photos today and figured I'd get rolling on Breyerfest Closeups posts. As a reminder, this is a series of posts I do after each Breyerfests, featuring as many photos from as many different angles as I can get of the models revealed in the Collector Club tent. Today I'm going to start with Nimbus, the new unicorn on the Mason mold! 

Yay, another release on Mason! I'm glad to see him getting another release after being slightly neglected for the first couple of years after his debut. It's a little interesting that he's getting another unicorn release so soon(ish) after the first one, but I'm not going to complain. 

Blue is my favorite color, so I'm happy with this guy even if his paint job is a little plain. 

He happens to be the Breyer colors - blue and gold/yellow. I wonder if that's a coincidence? 

Sorry for the slightly out-of-focus photos. I was super excited about a new Mason! He's only had a handful of releases since his 2018 debut, so it's good to see him out and about (and makes sense now that he has the new palomino RR release). I'm excited to see him on the website later this year!
