Featured JAH - 11/29/2025, Annual 2021

 Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving, if you're American. This week we're covering the Annual 2021 issue, so let's get started! 

On the front cover, a lovely Dani model canters through a dressage scene. 

In the Editor's Desk, Stephanie recaps the year as usual. 

On page 3 we have an article about the first Breyer Boot Camp. 

After skipping an ad for Piper's Pony Tales, on page 5 is an article about portrait model Marc of Charm. 

On page 6 is a collage of various people's Breyer displays. 

On page 7 we have Artist's Sketch, featuring Rayvin Maddock and Fireheart! 

The first page of the Breyerfest 2021 retrospective appears on page 8. Breyerfest 2021 took place online, but was much less of a disaster than Breyerfest 2020 had been. They saved the disaster for when the warehouse started shipping models after it was over. 

On page 9 we have the rest of the Breyerfest recap. 

After skipping the 2021 BCC winners and an ad for Breyerfest 2022, on page 13 is a birthday article about the Fighting Stallion! Huzzah! 

After skipping a photo show article and an ad for Firefly and Hawkeye, on page 20 is the first page of the article about Tiz the Law. 

The Tiz the Law article concludes on page 21. 

On page 22 is the first page of Vintage Point, this week featuring flockies!

After skipping more Hobbyist Hangout stuff and the 2021 New Product Guide, as well as an ad for the 2022 Premier Club, on the back cover of the magazine we have the lovely Arctic Grandeur, the 2021 Holiday Horse! And that brings us to the end of next week's issue. 

I also have a very important announcement to make - we're moving again! And not only that, but we're moving to the faraway land of New Zealand! But fear not - the blogging will continue, one way or another. We're excited to start this new chapter of our lives. This move has been in the works since 2021 and I'm excited to say it's finally happening! We leave on December 10, so posting may be spotty after that until my computer arrives from its 2-month journey across the ocean (along with my collection). Woohoo!

The second Black Friday sale started!

 Greetings, readers! Well, the second round of the Black Groday sale is pretty much over - they had a lot of old Premier Clubs releases - Vermeer, Rhiannon and Rhemi and more (as well as old web specials like La Molina and Masella) and old Stablemates Club releases like Virkie. Nothing I would have been interested in, fortunately (and I managed to forget about the sale again, so I missed it in any case). I hope everyone got what they were looking for!

Featured JAH - 11/22/2025, Annual 2020

 Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're covering the Annual 2020 issue this week, so without further ado, let's get started! 

On the front cover, an Ideal American Paint Horse on Geronimo looks handsome with his tail blowing in the breeze and detailed tack and rider set. 

In the Editor's Desk, Stephanie recaps 2020 (not a great year - thanks, Covid!). On page 3 we have an article about portrait model Avatar's Jazzman. 

After skipping photo show results on pages 4-5 and a photography article on pages 5-6, on page 8 we have Artist's Sketch featuring Amanda Brock! I included this because of the handsome Altynai paint design work. 

On page 9 is a small behind-the-scenes feature on Vermeer! One of the prettiest paint jobs on this mold, I'm pretty sure. And I'm happy to announce that I did find a Vermeer to buy back! Along with all the other colors on the mold - my conga is restored! Huzzah. 

On page 10 is the first page of the photo recap of Breyerfest 2020, the first virtual Breyerfest. Ah, I remember those days well. Not fondly, you understand, because of all the things that went wrong, but I do remember it. 

Breyerfest recap wraps up on page 11. 

After skipping the Breyerfest best customs contest winners, on page 14 we have this, ah, unfortunate blast from the past - the ill-conceived Intuit celebration horse/model, later to be replaced by Dani. For more information, see this. Interestingly, Intuit was offered for sale in March of this year and no longer appears on the Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses website. 

After skipping an article about documenting your collection, on page 16 is the first page of the Adiah HP article. 

The Adiah article wraps up on page 17. 

On page 18 we have Vintage Point, this week featuring the various anniversary models Breyer has produced.

Well, okay, there was one more page of Vintage Point, but it was a listing of all those releases. After skipping an ad for the 2021 Vintage Club, on page 23 we have an article about Presentation Models. 

On page 24 we have a an article about the 45th anniversary of Just About Horses! 

The 45th anniversary article wraps up on page 25. 

After skipping a social media article, on page 28 is the first page of the "Gangsters" article. These ponies' names make me cringe really hard for some reason, so I'll just refer to them as the Gangsters. 

The Gangsters article ends on page 29. 

After skipping an ad for the 2021 Stablemates Club, on page 31 is an article about the mighty Winx! 

On page 32 we have an article about red roans! I think we need a follow-up article about blue roans. 

The red roan article concludes on page 33. I'm most partial to I'm Yours, even if it's not completely realistic. 

After skipping a couple more feature articles, on page 39 is the article on Peptoboonsmal! The real Peptoboonsmal died last year at the age of 32. 

After skipping the 2020 New Product Guide and an ad for the 2021 Premier Club, on the back cover of the magazine we find the handsome Yuletide Greetings, the 2020 Holiday Horse! And with that, we've reached the end of this week's issue. Check back next week (hopefully) for Annual 2021! 

Early Access Black Friday sale, Winnifred and Isla!

 Greetings, readers! Well, the early-access Black Friday sale started today! Lots of fun stuff this time, including Altynai, the VC Tuxedo, Garret the deer, Dahlia, Shelburn, Nadira and Zaahir, Helios, the VC Secretariat, Tannenbaum, Adonis and the VC Stablemates Collection from last year. Most of that is sold out, but some of them are still available. 

As the above photo suggests, I did buy a Tuxedo. To be totally honest, I had so much going on today that I completely forgot the sale was even happening until I sat down at my computer shortly after it started. I thought about buying a Tuxedo, but was on the fence, so I decided to eat lunch. After I was done with lunch, he hadn't sold out yet, so I decided to bite the bullet and get one. One more chance for a solid black one - crossing my fingers! Pretty low chance of getting the one I want, but I figure it's gotta be higher than buying another Tannenbaum would have been. 

In other news, my Winnifred and Isla sets arrived today! One of those sets is already on the way to its new owner, but here's the other Winnifred:

I was expecting the reverse dapples to be a little more subtle, and she has a few small flaws, but she's pretty nice other than that. 

I want to like Isla - I like the frosting on her mane - but I'm just not crazy about her pose. And her too-large, too-uniform dapples. I do wish they'd go back to using the satin bags for the Stablemates Club models. Oh well. 

Black Friday sale tomorrow!

 Alert to Collector Club members! The early-access Black Friday sale starts tomorrow at 12pm EST! Check the website tomorrow for such treasures as old web specials, (probably) unsold Collector Club special runs, and other treasures! Probably some old club releases in there as well. 



On the Winnifred front, the delivery was rescheduled for tomorrow, so hopefully those arrive promptly on time! I'm excited to see if I get a gray one (or two would be great, but I'll settle for one). So check back tomorrow to see what I got! 

Winnifred and more Short & Sweets!

 Attention, Premier Club members! This year's final release, Winnifred, is ready to order! 

I paid for fast shipping on mine because I just can't take the waiting any longer! I gotta see if I get a gray one! I have two coming, so I'm excited to see which ones I get! ...And I'll probably be desperately trying to sell them once it becomes clear I didn't get a gray one. But anyways, Isla (this year's PC Stablemate) is being shipped along with Winnifred, so make sure you search through the whole box. Don't let her get lost in bubble wrap! 

And in other news, my last four Short & Sweets showed up early! After my daughter helped me open them, this is what we got! 

Yesterday's red and green are on the left. Which means we got two golds and two blues! Interestingly, we opened them one at a time - first me, then her. So I opened a gold one, then she opened a gold one. Then I opened a blue one, and she opened a blue one. I shuffled them before I gave them to her, so what are the odds of that happening? But anyways. 

Here are my four together! I'm a little sad I didn't get a black one, but at least I got all four colors so I don't have to try to find people to trade with. If only they sold these in sets so we could just buy the set and be done with it...

Both of the gold ones were pretty good-quality, but both of the blues had a couple of little issues. Nothing major, thankfully.

Maybe someday I'll find a black one! But in the meantime, I'm happy to have all four of the regular colors. 

One last note - the 2026 Vintage Club opened up for regular membership today, so if you're wanting to join, feel free! I'd wait to see if they reveal anything else first, though. But that's just me.
