Featured JAH - 4/19/2025, Mar/Apr 2008

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! Hey, it's April, and this issue is Mar/Apr 2008! How timely.

On the front cover, we have a nicely-done ELCR diorama by Robin Briscoe.

In the Editor's Desk, Arlene talks about the ELCR and gives some background on the creation of the cover photo.

On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor.

On page 4 we have the first page of the ELCR article. I kinda thought they'd gone away from having the first part of the article be a photo, but I guess it's back for this issue.

The ELCR article appears on page 5, along with reveals of the two ELCR models, with very inspiring descriptions on those photos.

On page 6 we have a Collector Club promo, with some examples of horses club members could get. You could get a free model after buying a certain number of models, but I wasn't in the club at the time and don't know how many you had to buy.

After skipping Collector's Corner, on page 8 we have the announcement of the 2008 Breyer Tour.

On page 9 we have a preview of Breyerfest 2008!

On page 10 we have an article about Rags to Riches, the filly who famously beat Curlin in the 2007 Belmont Stakes!

The Rags to Riches article wraps up on page 11, with a reveal of her Breyer model. Rags to Riches is still alive as of this writing! You know, I was going to write some stuff about her here, but I'll just let you read her Wikipedia page, since she has one.

On page 12 we have the debut of the beautiful Blue Velvet! Such a nice color on Bluegrass Bandit.

After skipping The Artist's Sketch, Mailbag, Model Horse Show, what amounts to an ad for Saddle Club products, Winner's Circle and the rest of Model Horse Show, on page 19 we have an update on Breyer Canada!

After skipping a couple of how-to articles, on page 24 we have Vintage Point, this week featuring Legionario! I really wanted Eclipse and Lavrador back in the day, but never did get them, and then I sold off the Legionarios I did have, like Grane and Galant. Still kind of sad about selling my Grane...oh well. He looks really nice in that photo with Lavrador.

Vintage Point wraps up on page 25.

On page 26 we have an update on Breyer UK!

After skipping On the Trail with Breyer and the Calendar of Events, on page 29 we have an article about Barbaro, 2006 Kentucky Derby winner.

On the back cover we have some new Classics Horse and Foal gift sets, and that brings us to the end of this week's issue! Check back next week for May/June 2008.
