Featured JAH - 4/12/2025, Jan/Feb 2008

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're starting yet another new year with Jan/Feb 2008, so let's get started!

On the front cover, Leotie poses with her Indian Pony.

In the Editor's Desk, Arlene previews the magazine as usual, and there's also a couple of contests for the new year.

On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor.

On page 4 we have the article "Horses in American Indian Culture: An Unparalleled Partnership."

The Horses in American Indian Culture article wraps up on page 5.

On page 6 we have an article about Breyer portrait horse Fox Valley Oliver and a reveal of his model.

The Fox Valley Oliver article wraps up on page 7. The real Fox Valley Oliver died in 2013 after a long battle with illness, perhaps exacerbated by prior neglect.

After skipping a map of then-upcoming Tour events, a Collector's Club welcome page and some new product reveals, on page 12 we have the mighty Silverado! Even now he's one of the most highly-sought-after Connoisseur models.

After skipping Artist's Sketch, Mailbag and Model Horse Show, on page 16 we find a short article about model horse show Mini-Mayhem.

After skipping the rest of Model Horse Show, Winners' Circle and more new product reveals, on page 20 we have a how-to article. I usually skip the how-to articles, but the "Itching to Fix Here's That Scratch? How!" made me laugh.

After skipping the rest of the photos from the Fixing the Scratch article and another how-to article, on page 24 we have the reveal of the 2008 Spring Collector's Choice model and a couple of book reviews.

On page 25 we have a Breyer UK update!

On page 26 is this week's Vintage Point. Kind of a strange choice of molds for this one as Strapless had only been introduced five years earlier.

Vintage Point wraps up on page 27. I had a few Strapless models at one point (I love her loose tail) but eventually sold them off for shelf space.

After skipping On the Trail with Breyer and the Calendar of Events, we've reached the end of this week's issue! On the back cover we have a reveal of Earth, first in the Ethereal Series. Check back next week for Mar/Apr 2008!
