Factory Escapees and Breyerfest countdown!

Well, readers, it's been an exciting couple of days, between the leaks popping up on social media and Breyerfest only a few days away. On Sunday, weird leaks started showing up on social media, starting with a photo of a pink-and-white pinto Strapless. I'm not sharing the photos here because these models probably weren't obtained "legally" and I don't want to condone such behavior. Anyways, the original Facebook post said there were also purple and black versions of these Straplesses, but I was skeptical of it because it was kind of a random thing to pop up on a Sunday morning and the box originally wasn't pictured. Eventually a blurry photo of the other two colors did appear, along with a photo of the box (one of the white shipper boxes they ship web specials in, rather than a window box), which made me conclude that it's likely this year's Christmas surprise horse (named Merry Dancer). Works for me, since I don't collect Strapless!

More or less at the same time as the Strapless mystery unfolded, we also got photos (not sure if they came from the same person) of what appears to be two Traditional releases for TSC, as well as a new series of blind bags. The two Trads are a buckskin pinto Troubadour named Brooks and a gray blanket Appaloosa San Domingo named Colby. The blind bags are Mystery Horse Surprise series 7 and include a chestnut Corbin, bay roan Charleston, red roan mini SCO, palomino mini Emma, gray mini MFT and black overo mini Indian Pony. Lots of minis in that one! I wonder what the chases will be.

In Breyerfest-related news, the countdown is still ticking down! There are already a few rooms open at the Clarion. I was sorely tempted to go do some shopping after work today, but I still have too much Breyerfest prep to take care of. I think I'm done with all my live show prep, though! Woohoo! Now to move on to sales prep. The official Breyerfest app was released today, so be sure to get that if you're so inclined.

Lastly, there's an unannounced special run portrait of Atlanta on the Prince Charming mold!

Order her here. I don't plan on buying one myself, but some people were having technical issues when trying to order at first. However, those issues appear to have been fixed, so order away!

That's it for today. Time to enjoy the relative calm before the storm, before the ravening hordes descend upon Lexington yet again!

Featured JAH - 7/5/2025, Jan/Feb 2010

Hello and welcome to another edition of Featured JAH! We're starting another new year with Jan/Feb 2010, so let's get going!

On the front cover, Esprit makes his debut!

In the Editor's Desk, Arlene previews the magazine (and the year). And there's another Who Am I? Another blast from the past, again.

On page 3 we have Letters to the Editor and a caption contest!

On page 4 we have the first page of the 2010 WEG article, with reveals of some new G3 molds.

The WEG article wraps up on page 5, with more new Stablemates molds.

On page 6 we have the first page of the Bet Yer Blue Boons article!

The Bet article wraps up on page 7. The real Bet died in 2019 at age 29 due to colic. RIP!

Immediately following the Bet article, we now have another portrait horse on page 8! It's Isadora-Cruce!

The Isadora-Cruce article ends on page 9. She is still listed as an Ambassador on the Return to Freedom website, so presumably she is still living.

On page 10 we have the reveal of the Four Seasons treasure hunt, featuring the popular Othello!

The glossy versions of these models hadn't yet been revealed, nor had "Winter." Guess they saved that for later! We'll probably see it in an upcoming issue.

On page 12 we have the handsome Alvaro!

After skipping The Artist's Sketch, Mailbag and Model Horse Show, on page 16 we have a Breyer Canada update.

After skipping more Model Horse Show, on page 18 we have a gallery of photos from the Lone Star Experience! Feast your eyes on this collector event of yore.

More Lone Star Experience photos appear on page 19.

After skipping a couple of how-to articles, on page 24 we have the first part of this week's Vintage Point, featuring the Classic Man o' War!

Vintage Point wraps up on page 25.

After skipping Winners' Circle, the Calendar of Events, On the Trail with Breyer and an ad for some Classics horse and rider sets, on the back cover we have the Pink Ribbon Horse! And with that we've reached the end of this week's issue. Featured JAH will be on hiatus next week due to Breyerfest, so check back in two weeks for Mar/Apr 2010!

More auction models!

Well, we've only got a week left, people! Actually, probably less than that since people start showing up at the Clarion on the Monday before Breyerfest. Are we all ready for the greatest week of the year? I know I'm not! It's going to be a BUSY weekend for me. We'll be in room 409 at the Clarion as usual, so if you're there, stop by and mention the blog and you'll get a free RR Stablemate (while supplies last).

In other news, we got to see another auction model today! Well, two of them, actually. Behold!

This photo was included in an email I received from Bidspirit today, announcing next week's live benefit auction. A OOAK set on the FAM/FAF? That's practically unheard of in this day and age. They haven't been regular runs since 1997, and last appeared at the Breyerfest auction 30 years ago! Even their last special run appearance was 10 years ago. Sheesh. I guess they were overdue for another appearance! I wonder if they're getting a regular run or special run release soon? I kinda doubt it, but you never know! Hey, maybe they'll be the holiday mare and foal set this year.
